I'm AFRAID to advertise again with my current account. Let me explain, I am abroad and all of my current cards are from the US. Of course using a VPN will mask (Not really) your location. Facebook can now use several other methods to know your location. Cookies, cache, IP address, and various other methods including now Google. I use my Gmail account and chrome browser for all my daily needs. Email and various other things. Now, normally before when I used a VPN, I could tell if it worked if it allows me to access to access the marketplace. But, as of recently, it will not let me access the market place and Facebook knows my location. I have removed it from my phone, computer and various other places. I used to be able to trip the system by only logging in from a brand new browser install, no app, with a VPN. But, now that no longer works so I use chrome browser and just stay logged in because what is the point if they know my location. I do not want my account to be banned, any trouble or flags to be raised but, I am not sure what else I could do. Any advice?

I have no idea what you’re trying to accomplish here unless you are intentionally doing something you know you’re not allowed to do. You can advertise from anywhere in the world and then take your laptop and go anywhere else in the world and also advertise from there.

Facebook absolutely locks accounts for anything it deems as suspicious (like a login from another country). I haven't had it happen to my ads but I had it happen to my personal account and it meant all my apps were offline and hundreds of thousands of users couldn't use them. It was solved within a few hours but still, it's not a risk-free thing to login from a new country.

@quarles you just need to not log in from other country and run ads from various country with same acc. Go through 2 steps verication process and you will be fine.

I dont understand your guys fear. My company and everything is located in Norway, but I advertise that and other companies across the continent in Bulgaria with no problems. Just run your business in a ethical way and you'll be fine.

It's possibly that Facebook knows all the IP addresses of your VPN provider (if its a popular one). This is what happens with Netflix etc. You could try a much less known provider, or ideally you could have someone back home set up a VPN for you on their home internet.

You can buy a residential IP from Windscribe. I think the key is not logging in every day to Facebook, if you keep the cookies and stay logged in your account seems far less suspicious

Log out of all social media where you are. Log into a computer in America using google remote desktop. Run some ads.

FB now can sense that you use VPN. As said above use residental IP. Watch this demonstration to understand:

My profile got banned like this before. You need to sign up for 2FA so FB sees that it is you login in. But to be honest I would just have a laptop in the US and login through teamviewer.

As long as you have 2FA enabled, log in from the same devices (same fingerprint), and don't break policy, you are fine.

Yeah alternatively you can reach out to the reps on live chat and tell them you’ll be abroad. last time i did this they told me to activate 2fa and check into the country i would be in on my feed so that facebook “knows” you’re there. i never had to use VPN or anything to continue running ads despite flying anywhere

What you need is a remote desktop connection not VPN

For what it’s worth I went to Malaysia for 6 weeks with a trip to Singapore, then went to Australia (where I’m at now) I was worried about accounts having issues, I’ve changed my location on Facebook to where I was at wherever I was. Maybe it’s dumb luck but even using WiFi spots and sim cards for data the only issues I’ve had so far were for banking. especially when I was in Malaysia.

I've had no problems going country to country. I think the key is for your personal FB shows action in the new countries too. I checked in to the airport of the new country first. Had no issues.

1. I would contact FB support and see if they can do anything to not lock your account letting then know you travel frequently. 2. You could just hire someone to work in your business manager from your country I mean if you just need someone to turn ads on and off or do small changes a virtual assistant in the Philippines or India will only be $5/hr

Be careful. After working from 30 different countries over the past 3 years, I was randomly logged out. Then the SMS bugged out and I couldn't log in. Meanwhile, my ads were still running and I had no way to access them. Facebook knew about the situation but were unable to provide support for logging in and aren't allowed to edit your ads. I had to cancel my card to shut things down. Took two months before the bug was fixed. I have no interest in using fb ads again. I switched to native instead. Much more fun and I have my own rep.

Just use your account like a normal human and you wont have any problems.

Most people don't get that, by trying different methods to prevent the system flagging them, they actually get flagged in the process.
