Which objective should i use for top of the funnel? i will run image ads. goal is to be break even on the front end. funnel: blog post opt-in page sales page with a vsl for a 47$ online course

Are you a 100% sure on that funnel though? I'd run two campaigns - One with traffic objective to your blogs, using your existing funnel. Another where I alter the funnel a bit. Setup a landing page that has fantastic content and an opt in form, run ads on this using the conversion objective. Define a conversion as an opt in.

The main idea is to send traffic to a blog post and retarget the reader of the blog post to the opt-in page and after the opt-in happens the person will see the vsl. but i'm not sure if i should choose the traffic objective as you mentioned or going straight with purchase conversion because the main goal of the funnel is to sell a online course.

@eleusis If the purchase will not happen in the same session as the landing page view, then it doesn't make sense imo. Nevertheless, what are your results like with the current setup?
