How much money should I use to test my tech-SaaS b2b idea? About to invest $13k in product dev and I’d like to know if someone would at least want a demo. I got designs and everything except actual product. So I can run ads to test. So is it $250/$500/$1000? I’m trying to reach HR teams and c-suite users at companies 75+ employees. Questions and ideas welcome and encouraged!

Create a MVP before you create the full product. Just develop the main functionality with a decent UI. That way you can see how the market reacts without blowing a lot of money. If the market is positive start adding features and enhancing the UI

@addia90231 yeah that’s what we are doing. MVP for sure. But it still cost a bit to make an MVP.

@hydrolytic8974 what kind of functionality? Unless it’s very complex I’m sure you could get a MVP created for less.

@addia90231 database, surveys, dashboard with data.

@addia90231 where would you go for an MVP?

@hydrolytic8974 I honesty don’t know lol. I’ve personally have developed MVPs in the past for half that. BUT at the same time to me a basic MVP is a decent UI and the main functionality of the project. Nothing fancy. If you’re not already, I’d definitely go with a freelancer who can write clean code.

$13k is chump change for even a decent MVP. But you can mock all of your features in a product video and have pre-order sign ups.

@rachael7070 that’s what I’m planning on. But what should I spend on initial Facebook ads?

@rachael7070 and the $13k is my share

The truth is that you never know. You need to test. Usually $2-3k usually is a decent budget to start.

A quick tip for you, when you're ready to launch, run LinkedIn "Inmail" traffic campaigns. Target by job function and choose HR. If you want only seniors to receive your ad, narrow down further and target by job seniority as well and choose managers and above. We do this with one of the biggest automotive brands in the world and it's the most effective thing. Notice that cost per Inmail sent will be $0. 3-$0. 8. it depends. But the open rate is around 60% which is very high and effective. I wish you the very best of luck!
