Let me come out and say it: If you steal an image from the Internet, you are stealing. It's theft. It's illegal. It doesn't matter if you change it even just a smidge. You still have stolen the image. I believe you personally could benefit from a subscription to a stock imaging service. Just Google "stock photos, " click on that, enter your info and you can use whatever images you want from that service.

Hire a designer for unique content, google loves that

@shotwell1 what do you mean
by (420 points)
You taking images from google to create cloaked unique images is stealing other peoples work. If you create your own images, that is honest and valuable to the internet community. What your trying to do has no value, to anyone, other than saving yourself some money on designing the images yourself.

@shotwell1 everybody do this
by (4.4k points)
@stereotomy not everybody at all. Many use stock sites like Unsplash for example.

@stereotomy no they don’t. Your trash if you do this period.

Is this a joke? I can’t take this seriously ‍♂️
by (420 points)
@hashum everyone is doing it apparently
by (270 points)
@shotwell1 It’s sadly true, but the way he phrases the question makes me think that he has no idea what ‘graphic design’ is and that photoshop is a brick and motor business where you print photos.  I’m so confused.
by (420 points)
@hashum it's even easier though, by buying stock photos  Right click download is easier tho. isnt it  oh now I own the image
by (270 points)
You only own it if you somehow make it unrecognisable with software!

Photoshop > reverse image. Passes googles API nearly every time

@theona868 ooo nice thats, what i was looking for. Thanks. And what about law? What can be questions if you just take some photos from Google? ) online
by (1.9k points)
@stereotomy - law? I dunno what you mean.
by (1.3k points)
@theona868 nice:) so it is possible to take any images from web, then reverse image with photoshop/or maybe you know other simplier tool? And then put it to your website and its ok? Nobody will not tell you anything and google will ok?
by (1.9k points)
@stereotomy - regarding the tools, I really only know PS. But I’m sure Canva will work. Regarding the tactic - it’s how you can take a google image and run a FB ad with that image without FB flagging the ad Regarding the person who owns the image and finding it on your site - the chances are slim to none. And what normally happens is the person reaches out to you via email and let’s you know the photo is not royalty free etc.

This is stupid.

@theona868 Tell that to copyright search services like pixsy. They scan the internet and I’ve gotten a few thousand dollars in payment damages when they find some store in a 2nd world country using my images . Works pretty well as those shops settle out of court.

@theona868 do u mean by 'reverse image' to 'mirror' a picture?
by (1.9k points)
@kentonkentucky3609 - yeah, just flip the image. In photoshop it would be under Image > rotate horizontal

That kind of software definitely exists. In MassPlanner they have a function to delete 1 pixel of width or height automatically to make it unique for FB. But finding an app specifically for that? I’m not sure.

This is just plain stupid when you get stick with litigation and lawsuit for infringement. There is no ethical and legal reason to do this.
by (1.3k points)
@rachael7070 are u joking? So where people get images for their shops?
by (1.3k points)
@rachael7070 but this is only usa
by (1.9k points)
@stereotomy - yeah, don’t let these clowns fear-monger you.

There are soooo many stock images available, it would take less time to find one then to steal an image and manipulate it enough to "pass"

The effort to do this should be transferred to using stock images or making your own

How is this thread still up. Don’t do this. Find royalty free images. There’s plenty of free images. Or buy a Life time deal for a company that has images.

Using complete images is a great way to get your page downranked. Make up your own stuff using pics from your business and clip art.
