I’ve just planted an Acer today. I’ve never kept one before. Can anyone give me good advise on the best way not to kill it?

Don’t over water it and don’t replant it in summer. It may “get in a bit of a mood” at being potted on but don’t worry :)

Ours doesn't like being in the sun all day. Also it's easy to over water it. You're meant to feel down a few inches and when that is then dry you water it. Xx

@robbierobbin if they don’t like to be in the sun all day I’m going to have to move it to my front garden as this back gets the sun all day.

Don’t over water it and don’t let it be anywhere where it can get scorched. Don’t under eater it either.

Don't put it in direct sunlight and protect it from the wind.

I've got mine in sunlight and I probably over water it . I got over 40 plants and I find the acer the easiest to keep. I barely look after it yet it comes back every year (for 4 years now)
