So I have a Victorian house which means I have a small garden, it’s also north facing so it only gets sunlight on half of it. I’ve noticed the grass seed we planted has started to grow on the side that gets sunlight. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of whether it will catch up or grow at all on the shady side? Or should I buy some grass seed for shade and seed again?

The wfc is for rain over this week with sunshine in between but lower temps. It will catch up and set but a bit slower now. dont worry once it starts you will see a massive difference every week. If we return to warmer weather next week. we may see it speeding up. Looks great btw, great job!

We seeded ours and is half sun half shade. It does catch up but takes a while. I am overseeding mine right now as it’s grown in lovely but just want it a bit thicker so I get neater edges near the flowerbeds. ( we seeded it in October ) this pic is October

And now ( it would have looked better but when I cut it this year I cut too short. you need to take a max of 1inch off at a time to stop it all dragging up)

Water it with tomato feed I discovered watering my hanging baskets with it that it was dripping into the grass and making it grow thicker and greener lol
