What do you find birds in the garden prefer? I’ve always got fat balls out but they don’t touch them. Do they prefer seeds?

Dried mealworms for sure. Also peanuts. The fat balls and seed seem to be last on the list in my garden. The fat balls tend to get eaten by squirrels more than the birds. X

I used to buy lots of fat balls at our previous house as we had a big hedge full of little birds , but now we have more blackbirds , thrushes & bluetits that don't really bother with the fatballs so started getting the suet pellets , suet coconuts & peanuts , they all seem to love them

I’ve never had luck with fat balls, but they do like suet balls. I also buy suet nuggets/white hearts/black sunflower seeds/and coconut half’s, we have a variety of birds visiting our garden as we live behind a nature reserve, but not many at the moment as there nesting. x. ps they love peanuts.

The birds in my garden don’t touch the fat balls either. So I’ve stopped using them, they love mealworms. A little random but how do you all store your bird seeds? I’m looking for something a bit different rather than keeping them in the plastic? ‍♀️

In my garden they ignore seeds, peanut butter for birds and apples and eat only fat balls.  All species - blue tits, robins, long-tailed tit, house sparrows. All glued to fat balls. I might try them too if they are that delicious.
