The heaters are expensive nd do not work, also cannot be plugged into extensive leads as the plugs over heat nd can cause fire, this year we decided 2try the solar heat mats off Amazon that connects to filter pipes so far these work much better, alongside topping up with hot water
by (550 points)
@postilion I have a heater and filter pump both plugged into separate extension leads with overheat cutoff capabilities and has been fine, when I tried having them both plugged in the same one it would overheat and cutoff but in separate ones they have been fine. Also the heater works great on our 3500l pool, takes about 48h but once hot it stays hot, and pretty warm it gets too
by (630 points)
@lasonyalasorella what extension lead do you use and what heater do you have please
by (550 points)
@coprology601 this is the extension, needs to be fully unwound also as can get quite warm and cut out. Just cuts out if it gets too hot so no fear of fire etc.
by (630 points)
@lasonyalasorella thank you
by (1k points)
@coprology601 these pool heaters are not designed to be used with extension leads hense why they get hot and cut out, for me was not worth the risk, please look at the instructions heater comes with they specify on there not to use with extension leads the same as the lazy spa hot tub heaters, last year on this gardening group there were many people posting of plug extension leads melting in sockets inside peoples houses,

Bought this other day - can’t remember 12 or 14ft. we bought a solar cover off eBay - it’s kept the pool so much warmer leaving it on all day then only removing cover when used x

Bestway heater and filter pump, seen lots of reviews saying they dont work but ours absolutely does! Gets it lovely and warm but does take about 48h to do so. Once warm it will stay warm however heater/filter need to be running at all times so electric can be costly although I've not found it too bad. I am actually running both off extension leads, despite someone above saying you cannot, but they are on separate ones and both have overheat cutoff capabilities. I am very very happy with the setup and cant complain! Our pool is around 3500 litres and I should add that the heater will not work without the filter pump, all it does is heat water that needs to be pushed through it by the pump. But honestly I wouldnt have the pool set up without the filter anyway, gets pretty grimy  also dont forget your chemicals x
by (630 points)
@lasonyalasorella what extension leads do you use pleas ei got the same pump and heater I cant get mine working code E6 and I cant get any help from manufacture
by (550 points)
@coprology601 I have just replied to your question somewhere else on here I think lol
by (630 points)
@lasonyalasorella I didnt realise same person haha
by (630 points)
Did you have to do anything before switching your heater on
by (550 points)
@coprology601 is your heater new? Need to press the orange reset button (on the lead) when first plugged in, then hold down the power button on the heater
by (690 points)
What heater and pump are these. Where did you get them from. Thanks
by (550 points)
@actualize5150 both Bestway brand, got the filter on Amazon, the heater was only available from Very but at the same price as other places so wasnt too bothered about ordering from there - usually they are very expensive! Xx
by (690 points)
@lasonyalasorella thank you. Been looking for awhile to get a heater but didn't no where from.
by (550 points)
@actualize5150 I purchased them both toward the beginning of lockdown when I realised that the ones we had last year were both damaged from not being stored properly. Couldnt find a heater anywhere that would be with us before end of June! Until I happened upon Very :)
by (630 points)
@lasonyalasorella mine is from very
by (630 points)
The top bit where the hose is attached to does the water level have to below that
by (550 points)
@coprology601 no, ours is above
by (630 points)
@lasonyalasorella my pool is tilted I can literally get my level half way
by (550 points)
E6 error is something to do with the fuse, it could be your extension is not powerful enough? Should really be plugged directly into the mains but I've found with a more powerful lead fully unrolled it works fine
by (630 points)
I'll make sure next year its level
by (630 points)
@lasonyalasorella I'll purchase a better one
by (550 points)
@coprology601 do you have a filter?
by (630 points)
by (630 points)
Same one you have
by (550 points)
@coprology601 so the filter should be attached to the pool via the lower hole, then attached to the heater, then the heater attaches to the pool via the top hole - the water does need to at least be above the lower hole where the water is being sucked out of. I also started out with my filter the wrong way round so make sure that's right too! Then I guess it's a case of trying a better extension and just having the heater plugged into it (the filter requires much less power and so I have that plugged into a cheaper one). If none of that works I would go back to supplier x
by (690 points)
@lasonyalasorella very don't have them anymore
by (550 points)
@actualize5150 I just googled bestway pool heater, see if you can get it somewhere else? I found some on independent sites but they were quite a bit more expensive
by (630 points)
@lasonyalasorella ok I'll have a try again be nice to get it working
by (550 points)
@coprology601 my kids are fussy and spoilt and wont get in it without the heater on  although tbf its bloody freezing!
by (690 points)
@lasonyalasorella I've looked. I've seen some over £200, is that about right
by (630 points)
@lasonyalasorella yeah mine to cold as well
by (630 points)
My heater only come with one pipe
by (550 points)
@actualize5150 £110 I paid, that's how much they should be, higher than that would be due to demand I guess
by (550 points)
@coprology601 yeah the filter should cone with two, only need 3
by (630 points)
So I only have 3 pipes but mines a round pool
by (550 points)
@coprology601 if you look at my pic I only have three x
by (630 points)
@lasonyalasorella oh ok thank you for all the advise I'll see if I can get it sorted
by (690 points)
@lasonyalasorella OK cool. Thank you for your help.
