Best bulbs etc to plant now for flowering in May?

I may be wrong, but bulbs planted now would flower in the summer. May-flowering bulbs should have been planted in the autumn. That’s what I thought. I’m sure someone will correct me.

@cyclic90 maybe just wait until May and look at what’s in bloom at your local garden centre.

Maybe buy a load of tulips and alliums this autumn so you’ll have a lovely display May next year.

Is there a reason you need blooms in May? You could still buy summer-flowering bulbs.

I’d say wait until May then and go to local centre. That’s your best bet I think. Not the cheapest option, but not much else you can do. Unless you have friends/family to donate plants from their gardens.
