Can I put decking boards straight over this area? I think they are concrete garage panels that were used as a base for a shed (now removed). Any other ideas to create a seating area appreciated

It'll be a nice solid base. Decking is a pain though, I can't wait to get mine up and pave the area instead.

See I know nothing about decking, it just looks nice to me

@aria its the upkeep, you can apply preservative to the top but not underneath, it feels slimy in the winter. I'm just not a fan.

Put a base of 4x2 down first

You would have to make a base first and level it

I had to make my gaps smaller, as I was using composite decking. If you are worried about upkeep of the wood composite decking is more expensive, but it is anti slip and will not need recoating every year. You will just need to wash it off now and then.

Yes, this was built straight over a patio. Weed membrane first, then adjustable decking supports as we had a big area to level then decking boards
