Really want a water feature but not sure whether to save and buy one pre-made or build my own. Can you show me pictures of yours? Or suggestions and ideas welcomed

I made ours but wasn't very cheap as used a bought liner fabric which is needed under a butyl liner. It's been down for 20 years and no problems. Doing it yourself means you can have any shape. I worried that if i didn't dig the hole correctly for a preformed pond that it wouldn't sit right.

I have a solar water fountain spray, just planning my pond feature for this summer and also wondered if it would be easier if I just purchased a pre-made one; I guess it would depend on whether you want it to feed birds/insects etc or wanted to keep the water clear and use a special water cleaner in the feature.

I've seen some nice DIY ones made from half barrels or tin baths. Not made one myself yet though.

@diego I love this. Don’t suppose you wrote instructions down as you made it?

@katzen34598 I got a half barrel it was 25 from a reclamation yard got two bags of stones from B&M some chicken wire pond liner and a solar pump from amazon . we lined it filled it up with water put the bucket in upside down and half of house brick on top put the pump on the brick then covered the whole top with the chicken wire and put the stones on with just the pump head showing . and it was off ☺️
