Use a wire brush on it to get rid of rust then paint it with hammerite

You could rub it down with a wire brush to get rid of the rust and then repaint it? I done it with our chimnea using some paste I got from Amazon

I’ve just sprayed my bird feeder stand with hammerite spray paint, spray directly over rust.

They do say baby oil gets rust off, try some if not wire brush and spray paint it, you'd be surprised how well spray paint covers things up xx

You can get rust converter to paint on. simply sand down, paint on, allow to dry then paint with something like Hammerite. X
