Hey guys.  Hope you are doing well.Hey guys. Hope you are doing well. Is there any Google Ads update affecting account performance? I was generating 3-6 leads daily as of last week and suddently none. I am using CPA bidding strategy after gathering a lot of data for a couple of months using CPC manual enhanced. When switched to CPA even got 9 leads a day. Is there something I am not aware of? I have 4 days without leads. Regards.
Hey guys. Hope you are doing well.

Also, there was a huge (unconfirmed) algo update last week. Spend a few hours in GSC and I'm sure you'll start to figure it out.

Similarly to organic keyword research, focus on intent, not keyword match or density. I know it seems counter-intuitive, as you'd think the goal of an effective Ads campaign is to get people to accomplish a conversion as quickly as possible. Taking that approach, though, increases bounce, decreases time on page. you get the picture.

The last update has effected more than just 10% of ads, I can assure you of that. Found out today the impact it had on one in particular - quality score remained the same, but IS due to ad rank went up by over 10%, some more for other keywords. Biggest impact was on board match and modified broad match terms, some losing out on almost 20% impressions share. I spoke to someone at Google last week and they swore up and down this update wouldn’t have had an effect, however another rep today said that’s the cause. The result is having to make very highly targeted ad groups with taking into account search queries not just ad text

I had no idea there was an update. Thanks for bringing up the question. Everything is running as usual except I noticed modified broad is not responding it’s typical self. However, I adjusted and just built tighter ad groups. Regarding conversions try to think of it like this. If there is a dog that didn’t eat for 10 days would it follow a trail of small pieces of meat? Of course. without question. Chances are the trail went cold. Looks like you might have to add some negatives or restructure.

Check your daily budget pacing and which keywords got more / less conversions, and see if need to add keywords, or change ad copies due to low ad rank etc.

Yup. That's why it helps doing on-page as well as Ads. 10 years ago, they were different categories. Now, the rules and strategies are evening out: create fast, mobile-centric page that deliver on search intent and don't make users hit the back button.
