Is there a way to dynamically change the H1 and Page Title of a landing page, according to keywords in an ad group?

If you use Unbounce for your landing pages yes, not sure about other platforms

@landside hi, so you recommend unbounce out of all the landing page options?

@reba5 I prefer it, there is a lot of flexibility in design or you can use existing templates if you need ideas. You also have access to add custom javascript and css if needed but dynamic keyword insertion like this poster mentioned is a native feature. I have an affiliate link for a free trial if you’re interested let me know.

Yup, if you use a landing page platform like Unbounce. It allows dynamic keyword insertion that you can pass through in the URL

Yes I code it myself with php. I’m sure there are WP plugins to do this. I use URL parameters for ad group level changes. You can also do at keyword level with keyword URL’s. You can also use URL templates to get real fancy.

That’s a great idea. Have people found this has helped with leads connecting?

As @sassenach says, pass keyword etc as URL parameters in the Destination URL and use PHP on the lander to dynamically insert the parameters anywhere in the lander

Any evidence this helps improve quality score?

@pelecypod no stats available but if ad groups, keywords are structured correctly + h1 + page title. or even better. exact domain, i believe more or less it can help. Of course page speed, content and others play a part too.

I'd be interested in if this actually works. Google crawls normally don't return dynamic text.

@viscountess i read somewhere b4 that meta title can be dynamic too for SEO purpose, not sure how it works but if it is possible for SERPs, why not for SEM landing page then? Anyone pls correct me if im wrong. :)

We run our landing pages non-indexed anyway

@penicillin I guess that's best practice, but not always how it goes. For example, I have a client that managers their Adwords in house and sends a lot sending traffic to their home page.

@viscountess Unless there is a very specific reason they are doing that, then they are doing it wrong. That is what I would advise my client. It's their spend so they can do what they want but I would advise differently.

Yup. That's what I've been telling them. =) Our first partnership was CRO, but told them Adwords was their top priority.

I've used dynamic keyword replacement on landing pages with mixed results on quality scores.

@sassenach Fogel so its not useful enough to push for better QS?
by (5.1k points)
@proctology it's worth trying

Yes you can and it's very easy to do it in PHP. Few lines of code in the LP and a config file where you keep all your "H1" and "Title" for each ad group. Can't talk about the QS because this is how I start every campaign so I don't have any other version to compare with. And I'm doing it mainly for the vistors, not for Google.

Assuming as a landing page you aren't caring much about SEO?
by (5.1k points)
@kato while seo isn't the goal, the words you dynamically change are thr same as you would for seo. Title tag, meta desc, h1, h2.
