Hey there, here's me again. I have another question for you guys. Today I'm wondering about DSA campaigns. See, our agency started one as a test, but I've yet to see it do anything super cool. I'm underwhelmed. I've tried to optimise it to the best of my efforts but, truth be told; I'm just looking for a reason to keep it going because right now it's a silly money sink and I could totally use this budget for campaigns that -are- actually converting like a mofo. Before I turn this off though, I'd like to give it one more go to see if I can turn this boat around. And that's where I'm looking for your help (because y'all are a lot more experienced and clever than me, haha). Would you mind sharing some tips & tricks with me for making a DSA campaign work? Alternatively, if you think DSA is shit, I'd love to hear it too.

Definitely want to follow this thread lol. DSA’s have done nothing but spend for me as well so I’d love to hear people’s thoughts

@messeigneurs Same here. One of the Google representatives asked me to test it. Although I was very relectunt, I went for it because we had some good repport with her and didn't want to deny everything. So just went ahead with a minimal budget and as expected, it didn't do anything except burning money. So stopped within a week.

Love DSAs, it's a great way to harvest new keywords. I tend to be very specific with my choice of URLs, start with high volume ones for categories that you know are converting well and then either go for a low enhanced CPC or jump straight in with a target CPA strategy. Use one ad group per URL, that way you have a good indication as to whats working.

No web site works 100%, find the bits that do and point your DSAs at that

After reading the thread i am feeling i am the odd one out. Honesty my cpc for DSA have been lower so i always keep a separate budget which help me build new keyword portfolio also for me i have been receiving steady conversions too. I feel one way to use DSA is to combining it with suitable bid strategy and adding negatives regularly and after having done that working on your remarketing campaigns.

I just heard a podcast mention they sometimes use them for keyword ideas, but that's about all I've heard about them.

Seeing as Google has let go of the hierarchy between exa and bmm, I've replaced my bmm campaigns with dsa to get that extra incremental reach! They're really handy to expand on your keywords. Be sure to have a really good negatives list and start with landing pages that seem to convert more than others.

Layer with inmarket and related categories. Layer url AND single category. Exclude all privacy policy type pages. Upload feed of best profit products. So so many options for DSA.

Also like DSA. For all positive reasons already mentioned. A well maintained page feed is critical tough. And, already said but oh so important, ad group per page/category.
The Google AdWords Group is where you can always find questions, answers, advice, reviews & recommendations from other community members about successful search engine marketing (SEM) ads through Google AdWords.
