So, I just started doing the google ads campaign for the company I work for but I really don’t know what I’m doing. I’m in the non medical field. We do senior placement and in home providers. I have a $1500 budget a month, have it set to generate website traffic (because the call option really wasn’t working) & it’s a smart campaign. Any resources that I could look at to make this a good campaign? Or honestly how much would someone charge to help me out getting this on the right track? We are in San Antonio, TX. Small company so I really want to make this work.

I ran Google ads for  for a while, who are quite similar to you. I'd be happy to talk with you and see if I could help.

On that budget, you should run a standard campaign with manual setup :) I'll be happy to take a look at it for you, I have over 5 years of experience in Google Ads and have recently started my own company.

Question: Why didnt Calls work? Suggestions: Try manual over smart. Smart tends to be wasteful on spend, especially at lower volumes, and if you dont have the required number of conversions, you could just be hurting yourself instead of finding progress. If you're looking for help, feel free to reach out. I've ran campaigns for Medical Companies for over 6 years been in the SEM space for 20. Happy to have a look and help if you need it.

@superordinate1621 Sounds like maybe you needed negatives to weed out the workers, and aim more for those looking for the service. Think about the intent of the user, the types of keywords they'd use to indicate they're a caregiver, and exclude. You may have some data on this in search queries already.

I’m just down the road in Austin. You should definitely have more of a manual approach to this. If it’s set up as a smart campaign there is not much for anyone to look at. My best advice is if you want to do this alone go to udemy and search Isaac Rundansky. If you want to get it right immediately. Hire someone either an agency or freelancer. Do NOT hire anyone that doesn’t give you access to the account.

@superordinate1621 you cant just switch it. It would take some work. But you’d want to set up a search campaign. Right now you’re letting google decide what is best. But they are just guessing.

@superordinate1621 that’s not true and never listen to the google account advisors. They are always going to advise what makes google more money.

I've recently finished a new tool that should be able to generate an effective campaign for you. Would love for you to give it a shot and report the results back. I've worked with a similar business out in Florida, and I've got a buddy who's neck deep in senior homes here in Austin. Shoot me a PM if you're down!

Do Display ads, you will have a better reach for a better price. Use negative keywords. Never use smart campaign

@breeching he’s right. Display ads (banners) have a very low CTR of about . 09%, less than 1/10th of a percent. It certainly can help brand recognition though. It could remind you of something if you were already thinking of that brand or maybe you had seen it before, and maybe that leads you to type in a direct URL and make a purchase. They’re not totally useless, but not a viable conversion tool either.

I find it somewhat fascinating that you people talk a bunch of shit about helping other people for free, but as soon as there’s a woman involved that is halfway decent looking. You idiots are tripping and falling over each other to “help out”.

I do one on one training. I can help you get it set up right and teach you how to maintain it. I can provide references to previous students. I charge $600 for 8 hours of training that you can split up over several days. I use Zoom to do the training.

Definitely switch it so a normal (manual) campaign. Use keywordshitter and Google KW planner to create a list of common industry keywords. Start making a list of keywords that imply that someone is looking for a caregiver (or might be soon) - these will be your positive KWs Start making a list of keywords that imply that someone is NOT looking for a caregiver. This would include the words that have already given you trouble - words like "job, career" etc Then write specific ads for each of these good keywords. For instance - "senior care options san antonio" would have ads like: San Antonio Senior Care | Call To Explore Your Options Senior Care San Antonio | Call To Find Out Your Options You don't have to make it call-based - I'm just throwing examples out there. The important thing is that you understand the keyword and what someone wants to know when they type it in. So you make those ads and you either do Call Only or you send them to a clear, concise and actionable landing page. Test both Gotta leave now but I sent a DM - if you need help let me know - I can talk about ads all day
