Google says if I spend $2, 000 a month they’ll have a specialist setup my ads campaign. What’s the difference between this and paying a ppc specialist? What’s the advantages & disadvantages of each option?

The specialist only checks in a few times a quarter. They give you recommendations to do in your account but they're not there day to day, plus you don't have to pay them.

The advantage is, that your budget will be spent faster and you won’t have to deal with a lot of customers  For 2000 a month you can get a professional with years of experience that actually cares about your budget and your goals.

@andorra well, the $2000 is only adspend. Don’t forget the ppc professional’s fee. Probably an additional $500 in this case.

@pollination62 A $1500 adspend with $500 to a professional is a much better investment than having Google or Bing blow through $2000.

Its like a shop assistant meeting you at the door, saying how much you gonna spend, leave with me. Then he gets all the items with most profit for him and you leave thinking. maybe I would have chosen better

I don't know the threshold, but many years ago it was called their Jumpstart program. And I'm sure it will be just as poorly built now as it was back then.

Its better than doing it yourself if you have no experience but i would recommend having a pro at least setup and get your account in a good spot and then have them check in every month or so

Google Ads Express set up my nonprofit client’s campaign for Google Grants. A local LOCAL food pantry covering just a few cities in Southern California. The campaign was getting clicks from NORTHERN California. Their “specialist” was that incompetent. I cleaned up Google’s work.

I have been doing Google Ads since the last 7 years and I try my best to avoid the “specialists”. Once they took my perfectly profitable ad campaign and suggested changes, took me a month to get it back to profitability. Since then whenever I receive an email across all my client accounts, I politely reply to them that we won’t be needing their assistance.

Yes they do that. Google contacted one of my clients saying they assigned a specialist to look after the account for 45 days. Of course my client referred to me and I handled it, and Of course, they recommended increasing budget, but I told them I dont have more budget. Also, they did configure dynamic ads and display ads. The thing is, all my accounts with manual as of last week stopped performing fine. Dont know what happened, if it is due to Google changes. So, they may be forcing us to go automatic and they will spend the budget the way they want. They never want to lose. I am just wondering if now they are having financial issues that need to go with these tactics?  or are they so greedy as usual business man that want more than what they cant spend in their lifetime?

There is SOME value to hopping on a call with them. I wasn't 100% sure about display advertising and they walked me through some important stuff. But they will try to get you to spend as much as possible. That's their goal
