Is there anything I can do in this situation? I have a client in the mobile mechanic industry. We are getting some good traction on some days but others we are getting nothing. For the keywords we use they all have 8/10 -10/10 quality scores, mainly 10/10. For the ad relevance, landing page exp. and exp. CTR they are all above average on every keyword. However we are still losing 77% abs. Top impression share due to ad rank. Our abs. Top impression share is sitting at 30% or less almost every day. Is there anything I can do to start reducing our loss of abs. Top impression share? What could be causing our ad rank to underperform? Thanks in advance

Ad Rank is QS and bid. You might have 10/10 but someone with 8/10 can still out rank you at auction with a high enough bid.

Budget and bid are different things.

I bid adjust everything with slow, small adjustments because remember that bid adjustments stack up so if you use lots then bids can get crazy high with all the overlaps. Don't forget locations, demographics and ad schedule as well. Why are you so obsessed with top spot anyway? Surely CPA is all that matters and if you can afford it, you'll get top spot anyway.

"we’ve found from running campaigns in different locations that having the top spot gets the most work. " How did you measure this? CR? CPA?

I'd check %age lost to budget first.

Might have to raise the bids.

What does the Estimated First Position Bid column say? Is it a lot higher than your bids?

If your bid isn't the issue, go to the keyword level and look at what keywords are scoring the worst in IS. You can break these out into SKAGS and write the ad copy accordingly. I have taken keywords from 12% IS to over 62% by just doing this.

Or modify your bids on key audiences
