Hello, maybe someone here can give insight. If working as a freelancer I am receiving money from websites like Upwork, Fiveer, etc (not exactly those websites but similar ones) for my services as Google Ads account manager and they do not provide any kind of invoice or justification, how I am supposed to pay taxes for that? Any help will be amazing, thanks in advance. (Paying taxes in Poland as a freelancer)

You should issue an invoice to the company you're freelancing for, not Upwork or Fiverr etc.

So you mean I should create an invoice for every client I work with inside the plataform?

Yes, at least that's how it's done in my country and it's only logical because you don't work for Upwork or Fiverr or whatever, those are just platforms to find the clients.

@richelieu Thank you very much for your time and answer, realy good info here. Have a greate day

@richelieu That is incorrect. You are working for Upwork who is a platform that helps you find customers, so you are working for upwork while the client is paying upwork. You should contact the customer support from these companies and ask them for a tax statement (Deklaracja podatkowa)

Ok, maybe that's how it is in your country but I was told by my accountant that an invoice should be issued to the company I'm providing services for. Also, if you're in EU and you provide services to a client in EU, you have to use "reverse charge" for VAT because the client is in EU even though Upwork is registered in the USA. Anyway, the best option would be to talk to an accountant so @misdeed will know for sure how it should be done in his country.

You don't have invoices? I use Upwork to find freelancers and I have invoices inside my account.

In the app I use I only receive invoices for my expenses in the app (as payment of membership or so) so nope

Oh just like you, I mean, invoices for what you pay, not for what you are getting paid for

Go see your tax specialist. You have to create an own-invoice for it manually. The German term is "Eigenbeleg". Since Poland is in the EU, there must be something similar
