Good afternoon Guys, I hope everyone is safe during this pandemic. After setting up Conversions, Google offers Automatic Bidding Adjustments which "Automatically adjusts bids based on the likely-hood that a prospect would convert". How exactly does the algorithm determine if someone is likely to convert?

Let me ask you this. how could the algo know who will convert for you without that data being input? The algo needs conversions in the account to be able to aim for more. Start out manual and add automation as you collect more data.

Thank you. That is my strategy - i'm just wondering how the algorithm works. For instance, does it observe the search patterns of the prospect to determine this? I need to know if it'll be effective for me.

@misconduct As your campaign gets conversions, after enough conversions, the algo can make assumptions about the users who are "more likely to convert". You will want to be careful with any automation you put into place, as most seem to be geared to make Google more money. not you.

Nobody knows that exactly and the rumors are, even Google itself doesn't.
