Conversions. I can't get to configure this right. Somehow I just spent $100 on a campaign with call extension, and didn't receive a single call.

@quota76141 have u had a look at the position of your Ad? I dont think call extension will make a big difference because you have to take look at other factors that affect your ads. If we are talking about just advertising in Google Search, i would try and position the Ad to number 1 by improving the ad and landing page. You should also check your ad position by manually typing the keywords in Google search or use Ad Preview Diagnosis and also quickly analyse other competition from Auction Insights. Depending what market/industry you’re in but with the clients I look after (service providers), I switch to Call-Only-Ads and I would increase 10-20% in Bid Adjustment or sometimes I run two types of campaigns ( text ad and call-ad-only).

Escaping from “smart” bidding campaigns that I inherited from an agency. Ugh.
by (7.4k points)
I find smart bidding only works well at 50+ conversions per month typically. A few accounts it has really transformed but I totally relate to you.

@cowper it’s a trap. You’ll never be able to optimize anything. You’ll watch them do a thousand things wrong, and you won’t be able to stop them. It’s what you do if you’re an agency and don’t want to spend any time on the account.
