Has anyone had experience with ad groups that won't run due to trademarks? Any tips for working around that or getting permission? This is for a client that sells autoparts and we have a campaign targeting a major automaker and we are limited due to their copywright.

There is a trademark permission form that google can submit for you. Most big brands will allow it (I’ve had to do this with the NFL, apple, etc). If that’s a no go, you can often still run them with limited delivery, but this can take several pivots of ad copy over time to crack the code. With support and manual ad reviews so far behind, it’s a rough time for the latter, but just pivot the ads (in low frequency) until you get some delivery.

You can mistype the names and circumvent the auto rejections. Example B-M-W for BMW.

Also trademark rules are not enforced in the display url. It's not a game changer but it's a help.

Contact Google manually to give you permission as a reseller.

Just the misspell the trademark text in the ad. It works or reach out Google for trademark owner details. They will provide you details & the respective trademark authorization form.
