I’ve suspected recently that for some reason I’m getting clicks and traffic that aren’t necessarily leads for my business. So I checked my Google Analytics and I am getting traffic from sources outside the United States. I would like to figure out which IP addresses are visiting my site and then do an IP exclusion with my AdWords but you can’t figure out which IPs are visiting using GA. What do you use to find out which IP addresses visit your site? Thanks.

@oporto in AdWords?

@oporto that would be under location exclusions.

No. In Google Ads. Go to Campaign - Settings- location - advanced search - enter countries then click exclude

But make sure you're including/excluding people who are "in or frequently in" the location, because that's why it's not working correctly now. Google defaults to "steal your money" settings.

Clickcease will do that for you. I have an old Wordpress plugin that will do it but it is not updated for newer versions of Wordpress. Let me know if you want it.

Just make sure your location settings on Google Ads are set correctly to “people in” not “people in, searching for or interested in”. By selected only people in that location you will not pay for any clicks outside of that targeted location.

@cowper I will check those settings. Thank you

@cowper this is the most important step! It’s probably causing OP’s issue

Sorry lets rewrite this. super busy I have 4 projects on the table. Ok install click cease set rules 2 clicks in 7 days 2 clicks in 14 (learn about these rules and scale down when invalid click activity diminishes) with automatic insertion of IP exclusions into your campaign. Go to your google ads locations exclusions add every single country in the world (takes 3 mins with an abbreviations list) if all else fails use the final step and change actual targeting settings I. e. in target, or interested in targeted area. To monitor this situation go to Google Ads columns and activate your invalid activity columns right away to make sure a decrease is occurring. Unsure where analytics came into it all.

All these elaborate solutions and it’s probably just the location settings still on the defaults.
