Quick newbie question: Should you apply the Google ads reccomendations for campaign optimization? e. g. Google reccommends me to shift to maximize conversion with fully automated bid strategy, but there are no possible conversion for my service, thus I am always keeping manual cpc strategy. The things is, that my optimization score is quite low in some campaigns - could this low optimization score mean the ad is not delivering as much as it could?

Their suggestions are generally self serving and not in the best interest of the account holder. I see what they have to say and generally dismiss them. Your optimisation score has no bearing on your account and can be manipulated by dismissing suggestions.

How is it possible you have no conversions for your service? How do people contact you? How do you get leads? Did you set up any conversions in your Google Ads account? In general, it does give you this recommendation only if you have active conversion tracking. if not, it would recommend for you to track conversions. And if for some reason (don't really know what would that be) you would not be able to have conversions, then you will face this issue with every channel.

@ixia385 my main conversions are direct calls that people make or completing a contact form. But usually customers find it more easier to call us for our services, thats why the conversion numbers in google ads are much less that of the real conversion if we would count the incoming calls

Well, then you can still track calls directly from call ads & from the website, there is your conversion :) once you are sure that this conversion tracking (also forms) is correct, then you can experiment with tCPA. Not only that, once you have conversion tracking in place, you can also track offline conversions. There is a plethora of tools & tactics on increasing conversion rates and managing leads.

If your conversion is call then you should run google call ads.

And initially run fully automatic bid strategy once you get enough conversation then shift your camp to manual cpc.

@slangy38095 your forms should redirect to a thank you page (which triggers a conversion). Phone calls should be tracked using a call tracking system (call tracking metrics, dialogtech, callrail) or google’s less robust but functional free solution. Running a successful account simply isn’t possible without measuring conversion whether using automated bidding or manual. You have to get conversion feedback on keywords, ads, locations, times, etc etc to identify positive or negative factors.
