I have even ad rotation set up and it's not working as I expect - Google is showing only one ad mostly. Is that just Google doing what it wants or is there something else I can try? I have 3 ads in the ad group and one has 300 impressions and the other two ads have 5 impressions each. Only 5 keywords in the ad group total.

Completely common. Google skews towards the ads it likes regardless of the rotation setting. “Rotate evenly/do not optimize” mitigates a bit, but provides far from even distribution. You can also take a crack at “ad variant” campaign experiments.

I figured you'd say that. Thanks for the clarification. Drives me nuts I spend time to split test different ads and they don't show them so I don't know what actually would work better.

If you want to try to split it I'd recommend an experiment even though the setting to rotate evenly should be more split.

OK, thanks. I'll try that.
