Tons of clicks and no conversions, not even on retargeting All Visitors or Adwords Optimized list on display ads. The same when I created similar audience of All Visitors, 1 conversion first $30 spent but then $400 spent and no conversions. I did not enter any specific targeting such as keywords, platforms, etc. Any recommendations I can follow? I am sure I can learn from you more than asking hundreds of Google specialists. I believe display ads have potential even though their AI algorithms cannot be compared to Facebook.

Before start running remarking, Do you know if those audiences generated conversions in the past? because it's suggested run remarketing, when the audiences generated, if not, it's like your audiences it's not very good.

@buckinghamshire8045 over 4000 conversions

@booklet well, those audiences looks very good. Honestly. Look a like, it's much better than similar audiences for one reason. Facebook know much more about the users than google, because in Facebook, the users provide voluntary a lot of things (likes, dislikes, what does it shared, where does it common, etc).

Consult a CRO guy.

@rosebud I am smart enough to learn by myself
by (11k points)
I don't doubt you are. But do you have enough time, too, and enough money to make all the mistakes you wouldn't do if a pro would help?
by (1.6k points)
@rosebud for the long-term it will be worth it, I believe someone good doesn’t have time to be teaching others and those who have time I am not willing to give them any money as they will obviously be charging a lot for something that we can learn and do it ourselves
by (1.6k points)
@rosebud it’s nearly impossible to find someone willing to help even for money, most people have less knowledge than you would expect
by (11k points)
@booklet Guess you're right. You either invest lots of time or lots of money. I personally would prefer to pay a lot because I am impatient, but I mistrust the expensive ones who promise to help, so I often end learning it on my own.
by (11k points)
@booklet That's an interesting observation. I hired several times expensive guys to consult and coach me. In only roundabout half of the cases it was worth the investment.
by (1.6k points)
@rosebud That’s exactly what I meant, it takes time and lots trial and error the same as when starting learning something new but it will be worth it
by (11k points)
@booklet I like that process but it's very time consuming. So I prefer a combination of self learning and getting coached - if possible and available.
by (1.6k points)
@rosebud I wish that existed until you figure out everyone offering such service is technically a scammer. I do very good in some fields, for example SEO I can rank almost any website really quick (+10 years experience) but I don’t have time to be teaching people amounts that I make sleeping. The same applies to any field. So the only solution is learning by ourselves instead of trying to find an easy and quick way.

"Who knows it, does it - how doesn't know it, teaches it" (Oscar Wilde). There are exceptions, happily.
by (1.6k points)
@rosebud Those exceptions are very rare to find unfortunately

Wish you good luck, as learning Google Ads is a tough one - i say that as someone who does Google Ads since 2004.

@booklet we have been investing 60k in mentoring and coaching. All money well spent. Sounds to me you need a better vetting process regarding finding the right mentor.
by (8.8k points)
Ryan, if you don't have time to teach it, you're not running a business, but the business is running you. Is that part of your vision? As in, do you want to stay in that position?

@blum44 Made my day. Thanks!
by (1.6k points)
@blum44 I don’t have time because I can monetize my time better than selling mentorships or courses, simple as that. If you spent 60k in coaching good for you, it has probably helped you to do the same as well.
by (8.8k points)
@booklet monetizing your time better, you mean by spending time figuring things out by yourself?
by (1.6k points)
@blum44 Knowledge is priceless
by (8.8k points)
@booklet Agreed. That's why we spend a lot of money learning from people who have been where we still need to go. You don't know what you don't know.

Check Placements - Exclude App traffic Exclude the games from account level. Filter by CTR. If CTR is above 5% - exclude.
by (1.6k points)
@minacious anything else I should exclude?
by (4.9k points)
@booklet Start with excluding those placements. Or on the other hand you can download the list of all placements with placement url where your ad was displayed. Then filter out the good websites and run the campaign only on those targeted placements. Can optimize by excluding or including - everyone does that differently basis their objective.
by (690 points)
@minacious exclude. mobile apps

@minacious what’s the best and quickest way to exclude apps and games?

Why are you expecting conversions on display? Display is basically branding. like putting a billboard on the road.

@tims434 well you obviously don’t know how to use it. just like me
