I love to cook them like fries in air fryer

@logan I tried them in air fryer and didn't turn out well. Took forever and they never got that crispness like French fries.

Make sure to spritz them with a little avocado oil. Also shake every 5 minutes

Don’t shoot me but I thought jicama is really high in carbs?
by (920 points)
@juxtapose5 really? I love jicama, just with limon juice n salt.
by (570 points)
@heteronym yes. sadly I love it also but high carbs

It is somewhat high but if you have a few slices of it, it is fine but the whole thing would be a bit much.

It's good on salads.

I’d cut them up in small cubes size and stir fried with ground chicken, add bacons (the more bacon the better! ) and wrapped them in lettuces. Voila: lettuce wraps!

Jicama is so full of water I've never been able to dry out enough - even pre-salting to try to get water out - I like Thuy's comment about cutting into small cubes & stir frying.

@retractor59152 I’ve watched Asian Americans cook it and some eat it raw but I saw the guy fry them and they looked just like fries. I’m gonna try this weekend. They even made candy out of it

You can slice it really thin with a mandolin and use it for "taco shells".
