It’s me again.  overtime our backyard is getting more bare spots, grass not really growing.It’s me again. overtime our backyard is getting more bare spots, grass not really growing. We have seeded a few times and put sod on bare areas, but no luck. What can be going on? What have you done to fix it?. Thanks

I had no luck seeding until I added new quality dirt on top of the seed

@lauber yes! You also have to rake the dead grass away. This year we mixed grass seed with some Scott's turf builder lawn soil and spread it over the bare spots. Also, if has to be watered daily.

We had a big bare spot a year ago that kept expanding and I filled them in with grass seed, and also got a true green plan and it brought the grass back to much better condition.

French drains and a dry river bed.

Do you water your lawn during the drought summer months? I’ve noticed our lawn get super dry and it starts dying off and produces bald spots.

We had a chunk of issues, we did very high quality seed, top dirt for the seed and tru green.

This might sound really dumb, but when we. moved i to our new house I was putting in a new garden and planting stuff and the neighbors came out and advised me not to put anything there because about 20 years ago that spot got struck by lightning and literally killed everything in that area in mu yard and there's near it so nothing ever grows. I laughed and did it anyway. All my shit died. lol. So I know its random, but it could just be a tainted area. Or you have pipe drainage coming from elsewhere drowning everything. Maybe have someone come out? .

@providence I feel we have a puzzle situation in our yard as we have been good about caring for the grass, but it just doesn’t want to grow. At this point I am taking all comments as possibilities
