Was there a post here last week about a barber shop still open for business? Asking for a friend.

Everyone needs to quit putting other lives at risk. These barbers see a lot of people and their customers can be infected. If they aren’t worried about going there for a haircut then they probably aren’t following the stay at home order at all.

@charlyncharm I do make him change his clothes. He complains when I want him in the shower right away. I do have him take his shoes off.

@charlyncharm my barber is open and the barber is making the appointments. Wearing a mask is a must, using hand sanitizer as you walk in is a must, the barber is cleaning the station, equipment and the seat before and after each client! If you have symptoms you don’t get to make the appointment and there is only you and the barber allowed inside the shop at a time. I’m a frontline worker and I have zero issue with this because the barber is taking all precautions necessary.

I offered to cut my wife's hair. You should have seen her expression!

As a stylist and as much as I would love to be at work, it’s NOT safe! Not for our clients, and definitely not for us and our families we come home to everyday. We all want our hair done but we will all look ridiculous together until it’s safe to do so!

Looked into buying one and they are going for $120 - $150. A much better option. They sold for $40-$50 back in the day I hear.

Nurses and doctors aren’t getting haircuts. There’s a reason they aren’t. Stay at home people, your looks aren’t that important. You’re not seeing anyone anyway, supposedly.

Sorry, your barber is a potential ground zero for a COVID cluster.

@mychal and in 2 weeks when more businesses start opening? Ground zero will be anyone who doesn't know exactly what to do when out.

That said, there's hope for treatment coming out of South Korea:

My stylist will be open May 1
by (2.2k points)
@charlyncharm well yeah, everyone will be as that's when the shelter in place is officially over. Unless they extend it, in which case your stylist will still be closed.

@charlyncharm doubt it.
by (2.6k points)
@winnebago2283 it likely will be extended a couple of weeks however she is scheduling spots for her current clients starting May 2.

In Italy two people related to someone I know died from the virus due to a barber shop situation. Please stay home.

@bipinnate21198 I'm sure if they are clearing her to open it will be ok. Our new norm has to be "out with protection".
