Does anyone work in Edward Hospital L&D? When we had my daughter in 2018, I made little snack bags with individually wrapped goodies from Costco for the nurses. With everything going on, I’m just wondering if I’ll be allowed to bring those in this time? And if they’re allowed, what are preferred snacks?
Does anyone work in Edward Hospital L&D?

I’m not sure but , I think you may have to check . My daughter is due anytime with her 2nd and she’s been given some instructions on what’s allowed in

@disentomb that’s the reason behind the post and asking if anyone works there.

I work at Edward and called L&D and they said as long as it is bought from store and individually wrapped.

@stopcock34106 thank you! I didn’t want to call and bother anyone!

@derrickderriey330 not a problem I work under that department so simple for me to ask.

@stopcock34106 I appreciate it ☺️ Thank you for what you do as well, can’t imagine being in any setting in the hospital is easy right now!

As long as nothing is homemade. Keep it in the prepackaged sleeves.

That is super nice!

@luce it was a huge hit last time, the nurses there are AH-MAZING, and especially now I figure they would appreciate a small gesture!

They will love it, how sweet! Good luck, it’s a great place to have a baby even in these crazy times!

I’d keep it real healthy to build their immune system. That’s awesome for you to do !

I just delivered there 2 weeks ago and brought in a basket of snacks and drinks for the nurses! They loved it and were super appreciative!

@zoroaster1067 congrats on your new little bundle!

@derrickderriey330 thank you, you too!

@zoroaster1067 how many bags did you bring, or snacks in general? I can’t remember how many we did last time, only that we ran out real quick!
by (400 points)
@derrickderriey330 I did around 8 of each thing I put in the basket (kind bars, Diet Coke/Coke, Starbucks double shot, pretzels, almonds, packs of gum, crystal light packets, lots of chocolate! ) I made two baskets too, one for day shift and one for night shift. hope this helps!

@zoroaster1067 thanks! Wow you went ALL out! I was just going to do like 30 cellophane bags with a few different goodies in there. But I like the idea of more variety and then they get to pick. and the sbux double shots are probably clutch!

I’m a nurse so I can relate to them haha! I figured it was just easier to put it all in one basket and then people could pick and choose what they wanted! I’m sure the double shots went quick! Whatever you do it’ll be loved and appreciated!

@zoroaster1067 love hearing from a nurse! Like I just commented to someone else, I’d rather have insight and do what nurses would appreciate and use vs what I think they’d want. I think I’ll go the free for all route. Clears up $10 in bags for more goodies too

I suggest a pack or two of Dunkin Donuts coffee grounds and some teas. We did this when we had our last kiddo in addition to the little prepackaged snacks and all the nurses raved about the coffee/tea we brought.

@ad2 do they do small/travel type sizes or do nurse stations have coffee pots? I’m clueless but definitely want it to be useful for them vs me getting what I think they’d like!

@derrickderriey330 they have coffee pots.

@dasie thanks, I’m talking about bringing everything with me and just having the stuff in my room(s) when I deliver in mid-May. And thanks to you as well for working in the hospital during this time!

@derrickderriey330 ahh, I thought you had baby in 2018. Not sure if anyone will accept from patients in the room. It’s getting strict every day. I work there and I had to drop off cards and swag bags that made by us and our neighbors to the dock as well.

@dasie I had one in 2018 also! My girls will be ~20 mos apart  From a couple moms who just delivered there, it sounds like I’ll be OK but since I do have a few weeks and things are always changing, I may end up calling again just to be sure! Thanks for the insight!
