I’ve managed to avoid Costco up until this point but I’m running out of everything i usually get there. What’s it like now? Is there always a huge line outside no matter when you go? I’m open to going any day of the week, any time of the day. I’m also open to going to the Bolingbrook one if it’s not as busy?

I went on 4/6 and there was a line to get in but they let 25 people in every 5 minutes and the line moved quickly. Not crowded at all.

This!  I was the first customer at the tire center the other day at 1:45 PM!

The line about an hour ago was all the way down the side of the building. it’s faster to order via instacart!

I heard they are limiting the numbers inside. Hence the lines. Trader Joe’s is the same.

My boss ran to Bolingbrook Costco around 1130 this morning he said there was a crazy long line
by (680 points)
Yup, I got there (Bolingbrook) around 11 today. About 75 people in line ahead of me. It moved fairly quickly. maybe a little over 20 minutes to get through. Some things like toilet paper were only the Kirkland brand. If they had chicken breasts around somewhere, I never found them. Otherwise, everything seemed pretty well stocked
by (1.6k points)
@dandruff250 I just tried to go at 230 on my lunch break there was a good 60 people in line.
by (680 points)
@baptist23167 Wow. I had hoped picking a kind of off time on a weekday it might be better. So much for that. I was happy I was able to get what I went there for at least!

I went at 3:00 the other day and there was two people in line. When I came out people were just walking in with no line.

Lines are long cuz they're social distancing everyone six feet apart. 25 people in every 5 minutes. Hired hundred new staff members to clean constantly. All this takes time. Everything in stock at different times throughout the week. Can't keep up with all the crazy to bands but really trying. Have some patients were all working very hard to stay safe

I went yesterday around 950 in the morning. No line to get in. When I left around 11 or so, there was a line down the side of the building. It wasn't terrible though. I definitely noticed it was getting busier about half way through my shopping trip.

Online ordering from Costco has been pretty fast. If you don’t want to risk it.
by (3.8k points)
@appalling I cant get the online to work at all! For almost 2 weeks now
by (660 points)
@tollefson5878 Anderson not even through Instacart? That’s what I have been using.
by (3.8k points)
@appalling oh have not tried instacart. Thank you We were just trying Costco online app
by (660 points)
@tollefson5878 Anderson I got my order the same day. I couldn’t get through a few weeks ago but now I can actually get through. Good luck!
by (20.4k points)
@tollefson5878 Anderson are you selecting same day grocery through Instacart? I have been my orders same day. If you hav ether Costco app, hit the "more" button on the right, then shop "same day grocery. "

My husband went first thing when they opened and there was no line. We stopped to get gas on Monday afternoon, and there was a very long line outside to get in. I would try morning when they open!

I was there Tuesday around noon. No line to get in. The line to check out looks scary at first, but once I realized the one line was feeding all of the registers, I relaxed. A few things I wasn’t able to get still, but it wasn’t too busy inside either.

I am doing Instacart same day delivery and having good luck. Even before COVID, I was hesitant to go to Costco during busy time bc of all the crowds. It's good they are managing it better and I hope it continues bc weekends there ARE crazy.

@sullivan96 hey! Costco doesn’t show up as a store for me when I pull up instacart. Should I be doing something different?
by (20.4k points)
@newish do you have the Costco app? Hit more at the bottom, then same day delivery
by (5.2k points)
@sullivan96 thanks!

The one in Naperville wasn't too bad last week, waited 10mins in line even though it looked super long, everyone was super quiet, employees were super helpful and had lysol wipes for you to use, a little line for toilet paper/paper towels that they were handing out, and had a big stock of everything! Very well managed and friendly!

I've been twice since the outdoor lines and never waited more than 15 min. Went mid day.

Tuesday is was very minimal when I drove past, no line at all. Today when I got gas in my husbands vehicle, there were around 20/30 people at 11:30 this morning to shop. I’m dreading going next week.

I went Tuesday. I didn't think there was a line, but I was wrong. Still, I only waited 5 minutes and I was in. They had pretty much everything they normally have

I've been going to the Naperville Costco and yes there is a long line, but the longest I've ever waited outside is 15 minutes to get in. It's run really well, never a ton of people inside and everyone respects your space.

I went at 1pm today and only waited 10 min outside. I was able to get everything I needed. (I went to the one in Bolingbrook)

Not bad at all. If there is a line it’s usually when it opens. I asked about the best time to go and he said later afternoon like 2-3

I just went to the Oakbrook one and they have more stock than NAperville. No lines as well. If you are planning to get some of those that they usually run out, you can call them first to see if they still have it for the day.

I am contemplating going too. You can shop through instacart and they will deliver fairly fast. They just don’t have all the things I need so I just might have to suck it up and go.
by (380 points)
@aronson88973 thank you . How are you guys?
by (940 points)
@selfabuse I went at 5:30 tonight. There was a line outside but it only took 5 minutes to get in. I bet if you go during the snow tomorrow no one will be there. They had no eggs but they had TP!
by (380 points)
@aronson88973 ok thank you! I think I’m gonna try for 3 or 4 tmrrw. Of course, now that I don’t actually need TP they have it‍♀️

I have been a few times. The last time I went they had set up the lines and the new checkout procedures. I felt very safe! People are wearing masks and are social distancing. They offer Clorox wipes. I wiped down several times while I was in the store. They have employees wiping down freezer handles and shelves. This is run much better than other places.

In my opinion, its actually one of the better places to shop. Line to get in goes fast and its not crowded inside and checkout is faster than it ever was.
