Question

Has anyone ever had an issue with their Instant Pot not sealing correctly? I just bought mine from Target during a Black Friday sale and have used it maybe a total of 15 times since. Nothing has ever been mishandled and all parts have been hand washed or hand wiped. All of a sudden, it's not sealing correctly and steam is leaking out the sides of the lid.

Check to make sure the clear seal is fully in place. Sometimes with washing it slips off.

@coca2072 yes, check the seal and when it's getting it's boiling point, firmly press on lid

@coca2072 I have, and the sealing ring is good. I even took it off and put it back on. While this post was pending approval, I called customer service. They are sending me a new sealing ring just in case to see if it corrects the issue.

The rings do wear. Possibly not dried and stored correctly? Can order new ones for $15ish, Amazon. Press into lid a few times. IP has poor customer service, one was quirky when I bought it and I had to return and get new one because they wouldnt help much. I always have extra seals, easy to buy extras to have on hand.

@michaeline24 While this post was pending approval, I called customer service. They are sending me a new sealing ring to see if it corrects the issue. The guy was very nice and it was a quick phone call.

Could also be overfilled

@steffi a couple chicken breasts with one cup of broth, and then a cup of rice with one cup of water. I have a 6 quart IP, that shouldn't be the issue
