I'm a foster mom and the organization Second Bridge has a foster closet. It's incredible because most placements come quickly and with just the outfit they are wearing.

Also the DCFS clothing allowance is about $22 a month. So for 0-4 where they are growing constantly, it's a lifesaver to have a foster closet. Also for teens who want a variety of clothes because think about how far $20 goes. Every foster parent I know spends/gives their kiddos way more than the "allowance" from the stipend, but it's wonderful to have the option of donations.

@cathay50039 awesome! It’s a big bin of boys 3T clothes. With the Coronavirus situation, are they still accepting donations? Do they have a website or FB page I can check out?

@apologue hmmm you're right, not sure how it's working right now with the shelter-in-place, but it's worth a shot to email them!

We donate to a teen pregnancy place near Oak Brook. They have the parents take classes to earn "$" to pay for the donations. There is also a place in Everygreen Park.

I donate to cradles to crayons. There are drop off sites in Naperville and you register the donation online. I like that they just give the clothes they don’t make someone buy them. Hessed house is also amazing
