It shouldn't after a couple washes, but I'd keep it with darks for a bit after just to be safe. We've done tie dye and didn't have a problem after about 2

Stylist too for 35 years. I’ve done this for years, but use the powder. use HOT water and salt. And sometimes I’ve done the spot only first to deposit more. honestly it doesn’t always turn out great. I always do an empty bleach cycle after just to be safe and have never had an issue with loads after.

It won't color over bleach

@cognate631 really? not at all?. it makes black a dark orange

@freeman75637 I've been using Rit dye for probably 30 years, it won't touch any spots that have bleach. If you ever used it before, you will notice areas with white thread do not color, that's because the threads have been bleached.

@freeman75637 Bleach actually damages fabric, making it very difficult to dye.

It works amazing. I have the same and do it all the time! Once your done, just run a wash of bleach only and it clears it all out.

I mean like just run the washer with bleach and nothing else afterwards.

@biquarterly what’s your process on doin it? seems like a lot,
by (600 points)
@freeman75637 the only process is what you just said. You put the dye in the washing machine with detergent and wash your clothes. Then take your clothes out and run the washer with nothing but liquid bleach. I don’t think it seems like a lot.

If you use the Tide washing machine cleaner after you do it no issues!

I’m a colorist too. I’ve used this and it covers the spots then a few washes later it comes right out. You are better off using sharpie

I’ve even used it on old towels at home to use for hair too and it was awesome for about 2/3 washes now they’re all dingy looking

How black are they? You can try a fine point black sharpie in thin lines super close to each other in the same direction of the grain in the denim!

@nason that’s what i did, was hoping it would look better and i could salvage them cause they were expensive but i may have to break down and buy another pair ‍♀️
