I am currently sewing masks for Edward Hospital, but running out of 100% cotton. Joanne Fabrics and Amazon are really hit or miss at this point. If anyone has some laying around that is not being used, and would like to donate for a great cause could you pm me? Even all cotton mens shirts would work:)

Try finding cotton sheets. I’ve heard people are having good luck with them.

@dregs even just flat sheets that people have laying around in their linen closets. I think I got rid of all mine but I will check.

@outside I’ve seen people using the fitted as well taking advantage of the elastic in them.

@dregs that’s a good idea for the elastic.

100% cotton is totally breathable. 60-80% of particles will pass through. Poly is fine.

Does anyone know what Edward is doing with the home made masks? I was there today and not allowed in with mine on. They made me out a surgical mask over it.

@tremann I heard they were giving to the people that work and the desks and workers transport people throughout the hospital. There is a special door that you need to drop them off at.

They can wear them over the N95 and other masks.

@tuberose is that what they are doing?
by (650 points)
@tuberose correct, if it’s a certain pattern. Those need to be made differently I believe. Either way, they are all for a good cause
