Does anyone have any experience with Endometrial ablation after having a C-section, please? I've read all the posts and comments on the page from older posts, and I didn't see any mention of how many people had this after a C. My last C was two years ago. My doctor is recommending it due to heavy periods, irregular bleeding etc. I'm looking for pros and cons - also concerned about how this will affect my period in terms of pain. I also have endometriosis, so will this alleviate pain -cramping/back etc and not just the bleeding? Ive read a lot of positive posts regarding it, so I'm leaning toward it being done. I have a call into my doctor for answers to this and other questions, but looking for experienced mamas! Thanks so much for any insight anyone has!

I had this done after having my son worked for 7 years then had to do full hysterectomy last summer.

@woodsia would you have just done the hysterectomy instead? It worked as in lessened pain and bleeding?

I had absolutely no bleeding for 7 years. They would not do a hysterectomy then cause I was under 30.

@woodsia ahhh that makes sense. I’m early 40s and wouldn’t mind anymore pain and bleeding! Asking my doc about this as another option.

But however i started bleeding out of the blue very heavy and it wouldn't stop

@woodsia that’s super frustrating. Thanks so much. I appreciate you sharing!

I didn’t have a c but had the ablasion. It was life changing. Periods are way better!
by (2.3k points)
@scottyscotus366 that’s what I’m hoping for with this procedure! The pain and 2-3 weeks of bleeding every month is no way to live.

My OB wouldn't do the ablation because I had a classical c-section in addition to three lower transverse sections.
by (2.3k points)
@muleteer803 I’ve read that before due to classical. So sorry.

I had 2 C-sections and I had one done. Many fibroid problems. Best decision I could have made. No periods for 12 years. PM if you want to chat.

Thank you, ladies, for all of your help! I spoke with my doctor and feel better about getting one from a more detailed account of what he’s going to do plus you’re insight. I’ll update once it’s done for anyone who researches for future posts! Thanks again!

Would you consider trying Mirena to control the heavy bleeding? I had a c and am on year 3 of my Mirena now. Zero issues, including zero bleeding. My periods were so heavy and painful before!

@howardhowarth1 thanks. I cant take bc due to clotting. I trued to have an iud inserted and almost passed out and it wasn’t even the iud yet, it was just the tool to open the cervix. My body doesn’t like my attempts!
