@whittling32055 Yes they are but I read only certain areas. Our hotel reached out and said the beaches by them wouldn’t be open during our stay.

We didn’t love myrtle beach. We thought it was similar to a beach side Dells. Very touristy.

@rhizopod South myrtle beach we found that way also, water was dirty and beaches too. We started to stay north myrtle beach and it was beautiful and amazing beaches

@chanel we stayed at the Sea Watch resort which I believe is the north end. We walked out to the beach and walked right back. The sand was hard and packed down. Not a great experience.

I found a picture of my daughter. The whole beach was like that’s no areas of “soft” sand it was almost like concrete.

Well, I have family in both places. I like Hilton Head better. Even the one that lives in Myrtle likes Hilton Head better. ‍♀️

Depends on what you’re going for. Hilton Head is one of my favorite places. Quiet, serene, higher end. Also close to Savannah, GA for some good eats. Myrtle Beach is more of a spring break “party” type place. Definitely busier and louder. More of a touristy appeal.

I was *just* going to post the same thing. HHI is great for quiet vacations, yummy food, proximity to Savannah, serene beach. Myrtle Beach is more a strip beach, think hotels and motels along the strip, traffic, lots of hotels with lazy rivers.

Hilton Head with family. We did road trip last summer, stopped at Knoxville, TN on way to and Asheville, NC on way back. While at HH, we did day trips to Charleston and Savannah.

Carolina Beach. Finding VRBO or airBNB is much more affordable and the beaches are less crowded and cleaner because of that.

Having been to both, I would say it depends on what you are looking for. Hilton Head is quieter, more community feel, with little niche communities here and there, more hidden. Myrtle Beach is busier more to do all along the ocean.

Hilton Head ! I travelled around the world and I fell in love with Charleston and Savannah . The beaches at Hilton Head are more beautiful and cleaner then Myrtle beach .

Grew up outside of Charleston, we referred to Myrtle Beach as the redneck Las Vegas. But that was 30 years ago

We love Myrtle Beach! We’ve been there the past 2 years in a row for our family vaca and will be going back in July!  North Myrtle is nice but we also found out that the VERY end of South Myrtle is nice & quiet as well plus it’s close to the new outdoor mall and great restaurants!

In Myrtle beach you need to avoid staying on the strip. The hotels from 35th avenue and up are better then the ones below that. I went to Hilton head as a teenager and hated it. I found it boring. I think as a adult I would enjoy it more. If you have older kids I suggest Myrtle beach. There is more for them to do. If your kids are younger then Hilton head.

Totally different - Hilton Head is laid back. We stayed at the Omni and it was incredible. Highly recommend the Omni. Myrtle Beach is ok, went there for a baseball tournament. Lots of touristy things. Ocean 22 is excellent hotel.

They both have very different vibes. We love HHI, go every year, so much for families, great restaurants, great beaches. Myrtle is very touristy.

We split time in HHI! PLEASE DO NOT COME! The states are opening up, but only because of politics. Our hospital is small and we are desperately trying to keep our locals safe. If you can wait until September, it will be wonderful- we call it local summer. But please, stay home for now!

Do both . we did both had a lot of fun Warning the waves at the beach are very strong I didn’t realize it and my heart was in my throat each time the kids went in the water They where 12/13 Good swimmers but those waves are crazy

HHI. Sea Pines is amazing. Lots to do and you can safely ride bikes everywhere. Lots of rental places on the island that will deliver bikes for the week you're there.
