We’ve narrowed down our (hopefully) rescheduled Disney trip to either staying at Caribbean Beach Resort or Port Orleans French Quarter. I’d love feedback if you’ve stayed at either recently or stayed at both! I say recently because I believe Caribbean Beach was recently updated. Did you love one over the other? (We’ve considered all Disney price options and narrowed down to these two. And yes, we have a fabulous Disney planner guiding us just looking for recently stay feedback). Kids are almost 5&3 at time of travel. Thanks! Thanks Mamas!

I’ve stayed at both but before the skyliner opened, CBR’s transportation is much slower as it’s a much bigger resort and buses have to go to each stop around the resort. FQ only has one stop and is much smaller and easier to navigate. The boat to Disney Springs is really nice too. We have stayed at FQ multiple times we love it so much. plus they have beignets!

@dobla This is why we only stay at French Quarter - my husband hates the reports with multiple bus stops.

French Quarter is smaller and easy to navigate. There is a boat to Disney springs and you can walk (or boat) to Port Orleans Riverside to use their pools and dining

We stayed at the French Quarter in March and we really liked the resort. It is smaller but had a good pools.

We stayed at French quarter and it was really nice. We liked having the boat as an option to take to Disney springs. It was quiet but we went in feb during a low attendance week. Lines for on site eating got long at dinner.

Kara, we just cancelled our recent trip as well but had booked Caribbean Beach for the first time. I haven’t stayed there but I was looking forward to trying the skyliner.

@tallent this was my one main draw to CB!

@tallent it goes to Epcot right?

And Hollywood Studios.

CB has the skyliner. Although POFQ is the smallest moderate with a fun pool / splash pad area, CB’s multiple transportation will give you more options. I would upgrade to the preferred location for CB as that resort is LARGE. That will cut down on having to use the inner resort bus. Plus CB just refurbished so the rooms, main building and restaurants were tweaked. POFQ does have those beignets and the boat to Disney Springs. You can’t lose with either choice. Hate to throw in another option - but the Gran Destino at CS is fabulous! I’ve stayed pretty much everywhere in WDW so let me know if you have any questions.

I was torn between the same two and chose POFQ bc I like the small size. You’re never more than a 5 min walk from where you want to go in the resort

Caribbean Beach was great! Skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood studios were fast and easy! No wait. Multiple pools, water slide and splash pad at the main pool.

@squire39 did you feel it was too spread out?
by (510 points)
@oliphant it wasn’t bad. Maybe 5 min walk to skyliner and 5 to the main bldg and pool. Many bus stops on the way so ours was probably 3 min walk from our room.

@oliphant we stayed in the jamiaca part of the resort and it was the closest to the skyliner.

We stayed at the Caribbean Beach and loved it. But it is HUGE and it takes a while to get to the main lobby & pool area unless you get a preferred room. Not really a problem, but with the amount of time spent walking at the parks, it was surprising how tired of walking we were. However - the pool there is amazing, especially for kids. They have a giant splash area for little ones and also a huge pool with water slides. My kids just wanted to stay there and play so much we almost missed a dinner reservation! French Quarter is definitely smaller, but Caribbean Beach seemed very geared to kids.

Just stayed at CBR first time in October our twins were 4! They loved the pool. We have no complaints. Planned again for this October but not sure what will happen. The skyline was down when we were there but our friends had a longer stay and they loved it.

Art of animation was awesome especially for that age. But between the 2 we have stayed at Port Orleans and loved it
by (3.2k points)
@galliard92573 we considered it since it’s one of the nicest budget options the only reason we opted no was the main pool will be renovated and closed during the time we travel.

@oliphant we went in November so didn't use the pool. But I saw a pool at little mermaid and Nemo so I know there is more than one pool there. We liked it because of the skyliner. That was great. Little mermaid beds were small but the atmosphere was so cool

I think the Caribbean beach resort has an awesome pool area!

We’ve stayed at both. Love love both! If you can stay at a room close to the pool/food court at Caribbean Beach, I’d recommend that since the pool is so cool. Otherwise, French Quarter is easier with kids your age since it’s smaller.

We stayed at port orleans in september and it was awesome. The transportation to the parks was direct and efficient. The pool area is great for kids. also lots to do at pool—they have activities for the kids multiple times a day for different ages.

Also, we had family with us and they put us in adjoining rooms which was great. Not sure if this is needed but we would all hang in one room while kids were sleeping in other

@tallent Mitchell Schacht oh awesome!

The transportation with littles is also key because the days are so long and if you have to make a lot of stops, the kids melt faster. PO is direct from resort to parks, which was awesome. And a short relaxing boat ride to Disney springs.

We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter last last trip about a year and a half ago. We liked it. We spent so little time at the hotel that it really didn’t matter though. The food was good, the pool was cold, the transportation options were plentiful. Next time we will stay at the Polynesian.

We’ve stayed at both most recently at Caribbean Beach in early December. We absolutely loved being right on the Skyliner for convenience to parks, both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. We were able to walk out our room in the Aruba area straight to the skyliner at the the new Rivera resort and hop on in seconds. It was about a 5 minute walk to the main building as well-not bad at all. The skyliner drastically cuts down the dreaded time waiting on buses and was so much nicer.
