At my shower I loved the recipes written out by ladies on cards.

My favorite was a nice knife set, some expensive pillows I would never bought myself, a mandolin slicer and my aunts got me a kitchen aid mixer. Also, some nicer towels and sheet sets. The pillows were like $60 soft foam pillows from Bed, Bath and Beyond. We registered there and Target. My friend registered at Restoration Hardware and got nicer presents as well, but I know our guests probably couldn’t afford Restoration Hardware.

We did a honeymoon registry and people were able to contribute to our honeymoon trip. Helped us have a much more special trip, and the memories and experiences to me meant more than anything else ❤️

I don’t remember what my favorites were at the time. Twenty-five years later, my stainless steel massive stock pot (not expensive at all! ) or knife set/block (kind of expensive) would probably be my choice. Or a handmade wooden serving tray. They all fall into the category of things we use all the time that are sturdy and not likely to break.

My pampered chef cooking supplies! Still going strong 11 years later! I’ve done a virtual pampered chef party since the brides family lived out of state. But can be done for anyway. Let me know if you interested

We were going to Thailand for our honeymoon and friends got together and got us a fancy dinner at Arun’s in Chicago - one of the top Thai restaurants in the world! It was such a thoughtful gift and memorable experience.

Our best man surprised us with a tour of our choice when we arrived at our hotel in Maui. We took a day trip on a catamaran- dolphins, turtles, snorkeling, sun bathing & Jack Johnson. One of my all time best days!

We like to ride bicycles so we put a new bike rack on our registry and we got it. $300 that we didn’t have to spend on something we still use today!

Le Creuset Dutch oven! We've had it for 11 years and it's still my favorite thing to cook in. But also not something I'd have spent the money on to buy myself

This will sound weird but I love the gifts we got but was so happy with the gifts we got that weren’t in the registry that talked about our heritage or were specifically for us because of the people we are. Lots of Irish stuff that is all so beautiful. Even a Bible and a plate that were passed down from generations. I also loved the engraved items that people gave us. Not used daily but definitely something that is so nice to have in special occasions

Full set of very simple "everyday dishes" and matching silverware. Up to that point we had a hodge podge set. Like college kids lol. Ten years later and I still love them.

Cash. I guess our silverware. I still use that stuff. It was a set for like 8 people. The cereal bowls and dinnerware is still being used after 20 years (all Crate and Barrel)

My first marriage we got only cash for wedding gifts (at our actual wedding). Our shower we got everything we registered for. So I guess Cash LOL With my husband now, we went to the courthouse and got married and we bought ourselves a brand new home instead. We didn’t have a wedding per se so no shower and no gifts! So I say the house
