Just wondering if anyone knows how the school district is able to electronically verify my residency? For reference, We’re renters and utilities are bundled and so not in our name. I’m just curious. Thanks.

204 contracts a third party vendor to automatically verify students address information. It helps protect taxpayers & district resources by identifying non-residents.

@estimable okay, that makes sense.

They started doing that last year or the year before .

@estimable I will say I appreciate it, it’s one less thing for me to do. Lol

@dobson for sure! I have no complaints

@estimable do they do that if you’re new to the district. I had to verify my address with some form of documentation last year when my son started kindergarten but then for this next year they electronically verified.

I received an email Hunter and Jonathan are good to go. I’m guessing since he was new to the district it needed to be verified last year?

@estimable yes. but I don’t think this goes to people who are brand new to the district (like didn’t have an older sibling). I got this for the 2020-2021 school year but not for this current year when my oldest started kindergarten. I had to register him via paper and bring in proof of residency for it to be manually copied.

Yes, because you’re not new anymore.

Sorry I meant to say they’ve already verified my residency, my son is in Indian prairie district this year, I was wondering how they were able to verify for next year automatically.

@dobson I responded below before I saw your update. 203 has always made me go in if my lease expires. So my landlord (my dad) did a 5 year lease last year so I didn’t have to keep going in. They’ve never let me e-verify. But, not sure if they’re changing that bc of closings, etc.

Is it 203? Not sure if their policy has changed with the closings, I’ve always had to go in with an affidavit from my landlord as well as my lease and another form of address verification (I use Nicor) but maybe a bank statement would work? ). They’ve never let me do it online.

They will ask for bank statement with address on it.

Lease or copy of tax/ closing document. Plus, 3 verification address: utility bill, credit card bill, cell phone bill, etc. plus: drivers license. Plus birth certificate. Plus vaccines records. All that’s left is basically finger printing, retina scan, and blood DNA samples

@dump38 it felt that way for verification last year! I provided my lease, renters insurance, cel phone bill, bank statement and they still asked if I had anything else (I hadn’t updated my drivers license yet) lol.

‍♀️ Also a renter here! For 204. I had to verify it with documentation for our first year in the district when my son started kindergarten which was this year. There was a list of things in my registration packet that you could submit. I think I used my lease and driver’s license. Contact whatever school your child will be going to and ask. For this next year, they electronically verified. I didn’t have to do anything. They just said if they couldn’t verify it then I would have to show proof.

For 203, you will get a registration packet in the mail with a form that needs to be signed by your landlord. You will also need a copy of your lease.
