Mommas, what are you doing for your moms and/or what are you doing with your families or your own Mother’s Day this Sunday? It’s my first one and I’m already struggling with PPD and this pandemic. Any ideas would really be greatly appreciated

What makes you happy? That’s what to do. Want to be off diapers? Want something special to eat? An hour alone? An hour with everyone doing something? With PPD I found it helped to get fresh air and make myself get out and exercise (meaning a walk around the block ;)) happy first Mother’s Day

I’m sending my mom and sister gift cards so they don’t have to cook! I’m making brunch for my MIL who lives near us and then at home we are just going to hang out and order in. The weather doesn’t look promising to get outside which makes me sad, but we’ll have some relax time and find something to do! ❤️❤️ Hope you have a happy Mother’s Day and take care of yourself mama!

Awe momma I’m so sorry you’re spending your first Mother’s Day quarantined ❤️ For my mom & MIL we’re dropping gifts & goodies at their door and we’ll see them from across the yard. For myself? Honestly I just want to be off diaper & food duty for a whole day and take an hour or two by myself outside to hoop dance. Then end it with a nice bath bomb, Netflix & wine in the tub  I hope you find some quality time for yourself this weekend! You truly need deserve it

Today we’re doing a series of short social distance visits with the grandparents. Tomorrow I’m taking it easy and letting my husband handle the kids while I do some things I enjoy (read a book, take a bath, make some hobby time) then we’re ordering dinner from Antico Posto in OakBrook.

Happy Mother's Day! Zoom brunch with my almost 90 year old mom. I'm cooking, bringing it to her, then coming home so we can talk and eat together.

Go see your mom. How was no more than 10 ppl acceptable but visiting family was unacceptable? Spend time with her. Lift your spirits. You need her. And, Happy Mothers Day to you.  I'm not visiting with my Ma because she was on a plane last week and my brothers girlfriend is visiting from CA. But, this isnt new - I never visit if they've been on a plane recently because we have an immunocompromised child.

@warren I agree with you! I hope we’re right.

@yodel, the < 10 people isn't until phase 3, unfortunately.

It's been less than 10 people this entire time. Im not concerned about some arbitrary idea or phase. Mental health is VERY important. She needs time with her mother.

@warren thank you so much for the kind words. We never do outgrow the need for momma do we?!

Sent my mom Lou Malnati’s deep dish & salad on Thursday; saw her for about 10 seconds (me in car, her on sidewalk pretending to give me directions bc she’s in a retirement facility & no guests allowed); dropped off some supplies + fresh strawberries & blueberries & cake & flowers; sent her cards. For me? Pretty sure fam ordered a couple pandora charms & will pick up some crab legs from Crab & Spice. Plus, I will not touch any dishes or laundry this weekend. Watch some of my favorite shows by myself & read.

I keep trying to extend it, anyone else? I call it Mother’s Day WEEKEND. ‍♀️ I even threw out a “Mother’s Day WEEK” but they didn’t buy it.

Huge hugs to you! PPD and PPA are no joke. Here’s the thing - there are no rules so do what you want! Take a nap when the baby does, have hubby get up early and you sleep in, have cookies for lunch, take a long bath, meditate. Do whatever may bring some joy to you! I plan to sleep in and have a zoom call with a cocktail.
