Has anyone delivered at Edwards recently? Are the lactation specialists working still? Is the nursery open at night?

I delivered last week in the 1st and the nursery was open 11pm-7am. I also had an amazing lactation consultant. They are still going around

@boren was your husband able to come and go?

Yes! But you can’t bring in outside food! So pack good snacks

My son is 10mo old now but even before all of this happened the nursery wasn’t “open”. They told us this when we did the tour and all of the lights were off and no babies were in there. They said if we really wanted them to take him they would, but they have all but stopped doing that as a standard practice from what it seemed like.

Just delivered April 21. This was my second babe so I didn’t request one but a lot of the nurses are lactation specialists and I do think she was available if needed. The nursery was also open at night.

Yes, to both questions. IBCLCs seven days a week. Nursery from 11p -7 am. Still doing outpatient lactation visits at the Breastfeeding Center, too.

I delivered there about 10 weeks ago and the lactation consultants were there! They also told me their outpatient clinic is open (although they don't have very many people scheduling appointments

I delivered there last week. The nursery was open from 11pm-6am. But never saw a lactation consultant. I really wish that was offered to me.

@zurn8873 was your husband able to come and go?

@jacklynjackman they said they really want to limit how often he left. He only left once to get the car seat but they didn’t give him a hard time when he came back.

I delivered on 5/4 at Edwards and it was not a pleasant experience. I too NEVER had a lactation consult and I asked for it at 10am with the nurse. The lactation person walked in to my room when I was discharged at 5:30pm so I did not get a consult. She handed me a booklet and told me to call the clinic and left. I went to the clinic and had a wonderful consult. Complained to them that I wasn't seen in the hospital. It would have saved me days of frustration for myself and my daughter.

For those of you that delivered on or after May 1st. did you have to wear a mask the entire time?
by (230 points)
@goggles0 delivered May 4. Yes we had to wear it whenever anyone else was in the room. It’s really not that bad

@zurn8873 even when pushing?
by (230 points)
@goggles0 I had a c section but yes. The only time we were able to take it off was if it was just me and my husband in the room.

You don’t when your in your room alone. They do ask when the nurses and doctors come in that you put it on
