Lovely suburb. not understanding why you are asking people who live in Naperville about Lemont?

Yes, the housing will be cheaper. But what you will be missing is all the great services that Naperville has to offer. Schools, Fire and Police Department and Park Districts cant be beat.

Not a fan. To close to Joliet and don’t care for Lockport. Have u looked into Oswego ? Close to Naperville houses are reasonable

@sholem2 Oswego & Naperville & Yorkville = $! $$ taxes.

@yamen9262 lol! My daughter lives in Oswego. 2, 500 sq ft house. Their taxes aren’t that bad. Or yorkville

Fewer trains into the city compared to the line going thru Naperville, once people get back to working in an office again. Having plenty of options to get there and back will be huge if you ever work downtown.

Lemont has a lot to offer too. It just depends on your preferences and lifestyle choices. Although, Naperville has more amenities and services.

Super cute! Only downside is it’s in cook county? Which has a ton of taxes.

Nice but check school ratings. A few in Lemont are frustrated with the small school environment for sports and academics even though high taxes. Smaller also means you get to know more % of people in the area.

I grew up in Lemont and live in Naperville. Lemont is really nice with a little bit more of a smaller town feel with (relatively speaking since it's still a suburb) the downtown area is really cute, but not as much to do as Naperville. It is cook county so your taxes are higher and as others suggested I would check the school ratings. I love Naperville but it's a lot larger so it depends on what part of Naperville you are intrested in moving too but essentially it's a lot big than lemont which means a lot more to do and more amenities. There are still some hidden gems of trails near by and outdoor activities in Naperville. If you have questions you can message me if you would like. Good luck with your move!

It’s a good town. Downtown is still independent businesses. Not big chains thankfully. Nice place.

If you really want to check out comparable towns nearby, also look at Wheaton, Downers Grove or @mythomania Ellyn.

Lemont is OK it can be very quiet, it depends on what you like to do. Downers Grove is only a little bit more but has a really nice downtown area.

We moved to Naperville in large part because it's so commuter-friendly to downtown Chicago. Lots of trains, incl express that dont stop much. I think it might be interesting to hear about Lemont from the perspective of a Naperville resident. We have a house going on the market soon. Naperville covers a lot of area, so it's wise to consider the different parts. If youd like a few details about our place, feel free to msg me. It's served my family well for 17 years this summer :)

Lemont is a great town. Cute locally owned businesses. Nice parks and library. But doesn’t have as many corporate stores and chain restaurants
