We are looking for a movie to watch tonight. Maybe something that came out years ago that we missed? We like comedies, action movies and even faster-paced dramas with some comic relief. Any suggestions?

With your boys? Or without?
by (5.4k points)
@klusek894 without! But they are 16 and 17 so they pretty much are ok to watch anything I would.

We just started Burn Notice on Prime. It’s pretty good. Never had time to watch it when it was on TV years ago.
by (1.6k points)
It’s not a movie but a series. But it’s worth it to tick off a few episodes a week. Figure I will be old by the time we finish it!
by (5.4k points)
@awl453 is this a series?
by (1.6k points)
@thirteenth2 yep.
by (5.4k points)
@awl453 thanks!

@thirteenth2 I agree! Different but so good!
by (970 points)
@pansy40 is this appropriate for a 12 year old?
by (490 points)
@juneberry I think so. There is just a little bit of swearing but the movie is really good and funny too. My son is 10, he watched it and he loved it.

The Three Amigos. Or Roxanne (since Fed Willard just passed). I’m a Steve Martin fan.
by (5.4k points)
@cull5032 huge Steve Martin fan too! Took my Dad and sister to Red Rock 2 years ago to see him and Martin Short! He was actually staying in our hotel on the same floor and I said hi to him at breakfast!
by (5.4k points)
@cull5032 PS, I love Roxanne. Such a good movie!
by (3.1k points)
Another Steve a Martin we watched a couple months ago was Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Still a classic. Non Steve Martin recommendation is Beverly Hills Cop.

@kilkenny I always watch that around Christmas! Awesome! Haven’t seen BHC though!
by (3.1k points)
@thirteenth2 you will laugh a ton at BHC. The boys will love it too if you want to make it a family one. Lots of language but only one scene with some nudity.
by (5.4k points)
@cull5032 All of me is a great one too!

@thirteenth2 that was the first movie I saw in a theater!

“Love the Coopers” It came out in 2015 and has a lot of big names in it. I never heard of it until I stumbled across it last week on either Netflix or Amazon Prime. Sorry, can’t remember which one. It’s funny, yet touching, and has a solid storyline. I highly recommend it!

Motherless Brooklyn We took my 11 YO son to see it so it’s OK for teens. My cousin wrote the book (not appropriate for kids) so that’s why we took him even though it’s not geared toward his age. He enjoyed it as well as my husband and I.
