We are thinking of purchasing a Bosch dishwasher, from your personal experience what is the best model you would recommend ? Pros and cons? Is stainless tub a must to have feature?

We have a Bosch. It’s 3 years old and I hate it. The stupid gel pods that they recommend never fully disintegrate. The knife separator on the 3rd rack is always unclipping. For such an expensive machine it has a lot of design flaws that are annoying as hell

This is the model I have

@malm9047 I switched to Finish pods and it dissolves now. Mine is about 10 yrs old. Lots of pieces on the bottom have clipped off or broken.

Finish pods is what I was using. I am now using gel detergent

I personally am not a fan. We bought one last year and it has all these cool features but it dries terribly! With jet dry it’s a little better but not nearly as good as I had hoped. Also don’t like the way it is set up for plates on the bottom. Not really able to make adjustments that I would’ve liked.

I hate mine. They sold us on the fancy 3 racks, which are terrible. It’s really hard to fit a sink of dishes in for one load. It also requires you use a certain dishwashing soap which has been really hard on our plastics.

We just got one after our GE fried. At first I hated it, but it washes really well, unlike my other one. It dries ok, not as what they hype it up to be. I don’t like how they say you “have to use Finish Jet Dry” though. We started to, and now we just use whatever brand we get. It is very quiet though! I forget its even on! I agree that you cant move the racks, I miss that from my GE. Oh and the front panel is plastic! I did not known that when we purchased it. I have a feeling that part will wear out sooner and look terrible.

Love ours. Was recommended to get the third rack for the silverware and am so glad we did. Had two others (GE and(Kitchenaid)in the past 7 years and both stopped working after the warranties expired.

We just bought one and love it! I’ll have to check the model. We were worried that it wouldn’t dry well too but it’s fine!

@kea847 I am such a ding bat. this one is GE, it was my other house that was Kitchen Aid. but I will get u that newer model too. In both houses the dishwasher is in an island and open concept house and it is so quiet

Oh and stainless tubs keeps it quieter plus look for lowest Db rating. I think ours is 42 whatever the lowest is

Not a huge fan. Stainless steel tub means there isn't a dryer in the washer so the steam has to dry everything. If you don't leave it closed long enough there is water all over everything. There are also a lot of water spots because of drying like this. I wouldn't spend the extra money that they cost to get one again. The only reason I got one is because I have a very open concept house and my kitchen and living room are open and attached. The silence is its only selling feature for me

We have a Bosch and love it. Silence plus 44 dba. You must keep it closed for it to dry properly. I use Kirkland pods with no issue. Jet dry and no spots. Put the dishes in and let it go. It's a stainless steal interior. I just ran a load and everything is dry. Yes, you may find water on the top of a cup that has edges but what dishwasher gets things perfectly dry.

Hate ours. We’ve had it for about 3 years, never dries things completely, even with the extra dry time. Doesn’t always clean well unless you rinse everything first.

We replaced our Bosch and I really hate the model that we got because we went one model down and this dishwasher has no indicator lights on the exterior when it is running and not running! We had the higher model before and we didn’t feel we needed all the bells and whistle’s but I would go and get the higher model and make sure it has an exterior indicator light when it is running!
by (9.8k points)
@southern Is it on the bottom? Ours has a very small red light near the baseboard. If you aren’t looking for it you might not even notice it.

We’ve had a Bosch for about a year and a half now. I love it. The Bosch brand does not have a heating element for drying the dishes, which is why they don’t get completely dry. I knew that when purchasing it, so that hasn’t been an issue for me. Use jet dry or vinegar and you won’t have spots. It’s so quiet that it shines a light on the floor when it’s on. We have the silence plus 44

We like ours but we have a thermador sapphire (3 racks) which is a bosch if that makes sense? We had a kitchen aid previously. This one is a little more quiet. In terms of drying, we always run ours at night before we go to bed so everything is dry by the time we wake up.

My worst appliance ever ! Expensive , stainless steel tub , so steam drying, always have to open door after cycle is done, dishes are wet. Only one plus- very quiet when working.

Hate ours. All Bosch's don't have heated dry. Everything is still soaked when it's done despite trying many different rinse aids. Annoying af.
by (670 points)
@cobblestone need to set it so door pops open at end of cycle and dishes will dry

On my second Bosch. Love it. We moved and remodeled kitchen. Picked Bosch again. The third rack is perfect. I bought one that is very, very quiet. Clean dishes all the time. No problem with dry dishes. Stainless steel inside always looks good. Good luck choosing

We have had our Bosch for about 6 years now. I do not have any issues that others are saying. Everything is sparkling clean and cones out dry (except for a few glasses that have an indent on their bottom so water stays in there. ) We have the 3rd rack for silverware and I love it. It’s super quiet. Only problem is that sometimes the bottom rack gets “off track” if it’s too heavy- just have to lift it a pinch to get it to roll back in.

We have had ours for almost two years , it drys great. The third top rack is favorite of mine - I load a ton of dishes and mine come out clean including glasses. Never had to rewash anything, I use ECOS dish tablets. Once a month I clean it with afresh tab and cup of vinegar, also clean out the bottom gasket - it looks brand new

We have one. Nice a quiet, which is great because we have an open living area. The racks are quite flexible too. I suggest calling ABT. Great local company with knowledgeable staff. Check their website, call the help desk to understand the differences, then watch for sales. They deliver and install and haul the old one away. What I iike is that their instalers are in-house rather than 3rd party, which I have never had good experience with.

I love Bosch dishwasher. The key though it's you have to use jet dry or generic jet dry bc i the way the technology works otherwise your dishes will not dry proper.

It's great UNTIL you need to repair it. In both my household and my parent's, our Bosches only lasted a few years before needing repair. Then it took FOREVER to get parts and it was VERY costly to repair. I would never buy another. I've had two different repair men recommend pretty much anything but Bosch.
