I think open up and use common sense play elsewhere if their are more than a few kids. Mine are so wanting to get out. The sun should kill the virus on surfaces. Older kids would understand to keep distance. Especially small neighborhood playground equipment a lot of times we are the only ones there ‍♀️

What phase are they allowed in? Three with groups under ten?

How will people adhere to 10 or less kids in a playground? Time limits? Who’s going to police that? Alot families have more then one kid. Things to consider. Also do kids wear masks? I get that it’s outdoors and all that however kids are kids. They will Play. They will get close to other kids. It’s only natural. Once they are permitted to open the park districts should put a disclaimer that you play at your own risk. Just like pools that don’t have lifeguards. You assume the liability. That’s what it boils down too. liability for the park districts and what the IDPH says.

@cariotta I agree. It has to be a play at your own risk. I also don’t think it’s reasonable to ask kids to wear masks while playing at a playground. That being said, I think playgrounds can be utilized in the same common sense fashion as hiking or biking.

@rao2 Not to mention, as it gets warmer outside it wouldn’t be safe.

I’m not usually a big Fox News person, but this just popped up as a notification on my phone!

@rao2 I hate to admit it but if they say kids need to wear masks at the park we will 100% be going without them. My kid has sensory issues and will not/cannot wear things on his head or face so he hasn't gone in any store since the mask rule began. Excluding him (and others) from the park would set me off.

@formalin yeah we’re not wearing masks outside at all right now lol

They are talking about it right now. Phase 3 groups no bigger than 10, masks. This should start May 29.

But does that include opening playgrounds?

@rao2 to be determined.

I’m also hoping playgrounds are in phase 3 and not phase 4! Our toddler is sick of me saying “yellow tape, we can’t go” on our walks!
