Has anyone used temporary die on their kids hair? If so, what kind do you recommend?

Arctic fox

yep. arctic fox. Tons of colors, super easy, washes out, smells pretty good, it’s gentle, vegan, cruelty free, etc. idk where else to find it except Hot Topic, maybe online? I (un)willingly, (just bc I know how damaging color can be to hair) dyed my daughters hair BLACK for a costume. Was very happy with the results and now would do it again in ANY color.

@headwaters how many washes to rinse out?

@washko does it work on dark hair?

@dyer47 Splat does! Only the 30 washes one. My son has dark brown hair and that’s the only one that’s worked for him.

It depends on the shampoo (some pull color out) but they say in general 4-8 weeks? .

We actually used kool aid and it works well enough for a few days.

My daughter (17) uses Arctic Fox pretty regularly. She lets it set for a LONG time to have it last longer. But it fades after a couple of weeks for her. She does have pretty dark hair naturally. When she was younger we did kool aid, also let it set for a long time, it never came out completely. We ended up cutting off the pink ends after the summer. I was glad we just did the tips (separated into sections and rubber banded a baggy around the ends)

@locklear I've also heard kool-aid lasts FOREVER!

If they are brunette, use Splat! The 30 wash one

We love overtone but also tried the Pinterest idea of using tissue paper. It was labor intensive but my kiddo loved it!

@higgler does overtone wash out completely? My daughter is a flower girl in August so I’m looking for something to last a month or so
by (440 points)
What color is her hair? My daughter’s is darker blonde and I feel like it washed out. It was a year ago that we used it and I don’t really remember how it looked after a month. The tissue paper only lasted 2-3 washings (the red really stuck)

@higgler tissue paper for what?

We have used manic panic. It usually takes a month or so to completely fade.

We initially used kool aid and that didn’t go away! Since quarantine we tried Arctic Fox and love it. Almost all washed out in a month (except her tips that are still Kool aid. think we’ll have to cut those off eventually)

I use hair wax paint. I use it on my own hair as well.

I'm a 30-year user of Manic Panic and have three kids that have used it. Color intensity and how long it will last depends entirely on your base color. But it has a great set of color options and is very gentle on your hair.

If I were to try another brand, I would look at Overtone or Sally Beauty's Ion Pigments line.

I used a hair wax found on Amazon. Washes out easily. My son thought he was so cool lol
