My 10 month old throws tantrums. She started doing it when she was a little over 8 months. She will scream, throw things off the high chair tray and sometimes throw herself back. Is this normal? This is my first one so I am not sure but I wasn’t expecting tantrums quite yet.

Normal. Unfortunately. I feel ya, they go through phases so it will get better but then worse. I found catching her before she is hangry helps, and staying calm. But otherwise they are just learning how to deal with big emotions and it’s part of growing

Yes! My 11 year old was awful! Banged her head on the floor & bruised her forehead. When I didnt react she stopped. She is now 11 and an amazingly great kid

Hi there certified baby sleep coach here! ooooh how i remember these years ! You’ll probably never completely avoid the toddler meltdown scenario, (if you do, myself and every other mom on earth wants to know your secret! ) but there are ways to keep them as short and civil as possible. If you can minimize the frustration that your child is experiencing, then you will prevent a tantrum. You really want to minimize. If you see your child getting frustrated around a certain thing or object, distraction works really well. That would be my second tip. Also, look into her sleep habits. Is she getting enough daytime and night time sleep? She should be getting a total of 15 hours sleep of which 3 hours are from daytime naps.
