So, I was gifted a rather large button collection as a wedding gift a decade back and I don’t need nor want it. but what can I do with it?!?!?  #purger *cutekidforattention

If so, check with the library or schools. Some collect items for sewing

Preschools would probably love them! I’d gladly take them for my daughter’s preschool.

Check with the special ed departments at the locals. Those types of things are great for teaching fine motor skills.

DuPage Children’s Museum could probably use them for craft projects!

KLA Schools of Naperville will take them! it's actually on our recycled supplies list. I can pick them up if you're ready to donate. btw, she is adorable!

I work at School Readiness Center preschool and will gladly take some or all of them. We use buttons for crafts and are always looking to replenish our stock.

I would find someone to appraise them. You could do some research on Etsy and sell them there too!

Get them appraised! They could be worth money and good to keep in a safety deposit box for your kids or cash them out and buy something special (if you do make any money) in honor of the people who gifted you the button collection.

Is that your cutie in the pic? If so (or you have any others preK) hold on to 100 of them. most Kindergarten students celebrate 100th Day & they would be great sewn on a T-shirt.

My mom is a seamstress with her own studio in Joliet. She loves antique buttons and will find amazing projects to use them on, if you haven't given them away yet. Just pm me if you'd like me to pick them up!

Buy Nothing and Freecycle are good sources, but it sounds like you’re set with the buttons.

Scarce. org might take them. They collect items to reuse and teachers can go there and take what they need.
