Moms of big babies!  My 5.Moms of big babies! My 5. 5 month old is a chunker! 6/9 month clothes are getting too small, but the 12 month sizes are still too long (even though we could still barely zip a Carters 12 month fleece sleeper over his thighs ). What are some good brands for chunky babies?

Two piece jammies you can roll up the leg but will stretch more

@fiertz good point! But I also love babies in little sleepers! ❤️

@illlooking if you’re looking for sleepers I HIGHLY recommend Bonds zippy wondersuit. They’re the best ever! Made in Australia (free shipping if you spend over $100 - and they make amazing gifts). It zips from top to bottom and vice versa PLUS it has optional hand and foot covers. They are super stretchy and run big. My 2 YO still sleeps in these. They are the BEST!

Oh boy! My son is MASSIVE! He just turned 1 and is 30lbs! I found that moving up sizes was easiest for us. Luckily it was summer so it was just onesies. Now he’s 24months or 2t and we have to roll the pants up a little bit. Carters does run small but if you get lucky you’ll find some at Meijer in bigger sizes. I’ve always just doubled their age (6m = 12m clothes) I love chunky babies! A picture of my dudes heinie and those rolllllsss

@hwang490 ah I love it! Those rolls!  My son has to be 20+ pounds already. He’s always been in the doubled size so far - I was just shocked when we almost couldn’t zip the 12 month sleeper.

Chunky babies are the best! Carters runs super small! My SIL is a regional manager for carters and shes even agrees that they run small. We’ve lucked out w Meijer having bigger sizes in carters for fleece zip ups but even their store brand has worked, Cotton not fleece though. Target is always good. Kohl’s is hit or miss for sleepers. I’ve never done gap or high end names. I’m frugal when it comes to clothes though bc they grows so quickly!

@fornof I think it's about time for you guys to come to a Sunday funday or Friday pizza night. Now a days, we do one or the other! Caitlin

We had luck with Gap and Primary. com. We have to make sure everything can stretch. It’s easier when we buy separates.

@strontian Slaybaugh Chorvat I see so many adds on Facebook about Primary. Good to know! Thanks!

@illlooking I think Primary offers very good quality. Good luck!

We had good luck with Old Navy/ Gap. I felt like things were shorter than Carters so we could go up a size when we needed for my chunky one :)

Giant babies here also. Fleece jammies always seemed smaller than others (I think the cotton stretches better or something). Maybe a different fabric would work better?
by (290 points)
@moneyed we have a few stretchy ones that work and the Burts Bees relaxed fit is decent too. It totally depends on the fabric. Fleece is just so cozy in the winter! But I may just have to let this one go ‍♀️

Find some with bamboo material. Super stretchy & soft. Milkbarn is a good one

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum BUT I find everything from childrens place swallows my little ones in width but not so much length. May be worth a try

Find bamboo - its super stretchy and fits so comfy - plus its great for temperature control so you don’t have to worry about them being cold or hot! I love Posh Peanuts, Lou Lou and Company (runs narrow though) and Kyte. I find Monica and Andy also to run a little short/wide, so that might work too.

I have a 5 month old boy in 12 month. He was a ten pounder at birth I currently have 3 under 3 and I’ve found the fleece are always bigger than cotton. That said. The target cloud island brand is pretty true to size and has the zipper from bottom to top on sleepers which is a game changer. I also buy footless pajama anything.
